A book I‘ve been meaning to read for years.
Tell me a book you‘ve been meaning to read for a long time?

Hey, there‘s a book plate in my Iris Murdoch paperback! I probably wouldn‘t have even noticed were it not for you two! 😀
#bookplates
What a strange book. Six people in London, living a merry go round of relationships. With eachother. They are so unlikable, all of them. And stubborn and vain and stupid. Murdoch did a great job making me feel this way but in the end it‘s certainly not my favorite book by her.

Time for some reading... Still need to read this for our buddyread #stdb2018 .... #24b4Monday @Andrew65
Look what arrived today. 😍 Thank you @tricours for the sweets and the funny bookmarks. 😊
Will try to catch up with our #stdb2018 pretty soon. @BarbaraBB @Dulcinella #1001swap
August TBR. It's not as need as it looks -- for three of the tomes pictured I am only reading one of the novels in the omnibus.
I read A Severed Head by Iris Murdoch last autumn. The November gloom and chilly intellectualism of this book fits perfectly with that season, so I might read it again when the leaves fall 🍂

July brings flowers, poetic summer gloom and long evenings with a pile of books. What are you reading this month?

What a farce! I‘m not sure what to think of It really. Who wants it next? @BarbaraBB @Sarah83 ? Thanks @Dulcinella for the awesome bookmarks! #1001books #stdb2018
Brought this book with me on our trip to Tallinn, but I haven‘t gotten around to reading it much. And I‘m sooo tired! Vacation is exhausting. #stdb2018 #1001books @BarbaraBB @Dulcinella @Sarah83
@Dulcinella The book arrived today! I‘ve started it and already a couple of pages in I‘m hooked. Thanks for the pouch! (Will be featured in a later post) #stdb2018

@Sarah83 @tricours @BarbaraBB how is everyone? Do we read our own book first? I‘m sorry, but not sure, do we have a list of mails and adresses. Seems I can‘t find it. My emailadress is jacquelinebrelle@hotmail.com
Every year I get a book recommendation list from my alma mater 👩🎓 WVU 💙💛 Even though I haven‘t even heard of half these books I thought I would share 📚💙💛 #WVU #BA #EnglishDepartment #BookNerd 📚💙
Full of unlikeable characters and dysfunctional relationships- definitely not a book for everyone. But Murdoch‘s writing is perfect for this scenario. It was like an absurdist version of Revolutionary Road. The first of three by Dame Murdoch on my #192019challenge ✔️
I took a picture of this and forgot to post. I opened my box and found this loveliness inside!!! I almost don‘t want to open because the wrapping is just adorbs. 😄 still no idea who sent it - but I do vaguely recall seeing this wrapping a couple weeks ago on my feed. Excited to open this evening! (Bonus photobomb by Tilney 😺) #halloweengoespostal
#5fordinner Weeeee! This would be a stimulating time. I'd just sit there in awe. Anne Sexton, Colette, Angela Carter, Dorthy Parker & Iris Murdoch. Yes, yes all dead white women. Tomorrow's dinner would be different.
Mwah. Easy to read, but I want to knock some sense into every last one of the characters.
It became quite farcical with one relationship ending as quickly as another was struck up. I still enjoyed it, although less so than other Murdoch books I've read.
Not my favorite, not my least. Made me think about the importance of secondary characters. The ever changing love triangles absurdly entwine into misery.
My new used finds from Dunaway Books in St Louis!!! Such a great place if you live near me or are visiting the area. First on my agenda: Iris Murdoch, who the owner said is sure to impress. Excited to start on this latest stack!
