This book did not live up to expectations. I didn‘t have high expectations to begin with. First off, it‘s the sequel to Crazy House. A house where kids learn to fight and are constantly fighting each other as a show. A show for what who know. At the end of book 1 the twin girls and many others broke out of Crazy House and have now joined the resistance.

LibrarianRyan They have learned that their poor, tranquil and boring lives on the farm were purposely set that way to make things easier for bigger society. But we don‘t get to really see that society. We see the girls take positions at the rebel camp and learn to fight. We get some background information but not enough to fill in all the holes. Plus we never get anything else about Crazy House. This book is Fall of Crazy House, there was no fall. 4y
LibrarianRyan Heck the rebellion barely started. And the book does not seem set up for a 3rd. And even if there was a third story I am pretty sure I wouldn‘t read it. The book was nice enough, but no staying power and an overall disappointment.

Pickpick

An action packed YA dystopian sequel to Crazy House, this book brings back likable, tough characters and a good storyline of evil v good. The end suggests yet another, so maybe a trilogy?

Hummm. Not worth it. And it feels like it should have a third book. There was almost nothing about crazy house and very little about what lead this this dystopian world. There are way more questions than answers and it just wasn‘t worth it. But then again it‘s Patterson and that is usually the case.

TheAromaofBooks Looks like your book may have had a lil run-in with your canine companion... 😂 4y
LibrarianRyan @TheAromaofBooks yes. 2 days ago. How dare I go to the bathroom. Earlier in the day she chewed up my lazy flip flops. Uggh. But I love the PITA. 4y

Even without COVID-19. This is still a stupid idea. Don‘t swap blood. Your a future society. Someone should know how dumb this is.

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I mean...there are way more fun and less painful ways to swap bodily fluids with a significant other. 😅 4y
LibrarianRyan @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm well, they already did that the page earlier. 😜 4y
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Then what the?!? 🤦‍♀️😂🤣😂🤣 4y
LibrarianRyan @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm She wouldn't agree to marry him. They are 18 and its a dystopian novel. In the “world“ they come from young marriages are common. 4y

I go to the bathroom and come back to this. This is after she chewed up my yard Sandals earlier today got chewed in half. Ughhh. I don‘t know how to stop this. She has plenty of chew toys and things but ughhhh. It wasn‘t 5 minutes. And she was napping the rest of the evening before this.

At least this time it‘s my book. 👿

erinreads Is this a cat or dog? I now have two cats who think books taste good and it‘s driving me crazyyyyy. 4y
LibrarianRyan @erinreads a dog. We had her broke of this habit before lock down. And since I went back to work she has been a chewing machine. Josh is home but he‘s sleeping. 4y

LibrarianRyan @erinreads but now that think of it we are having problems with neighbor kids so maybe that is effecting her. 4y

cathysaid I used a pheromone for my cats a couple of times...once during a divorce/relocation and once introducing another animal. It‘s a situational treatment and not necessarily long term. Looks like there‘s something similar for dogs - Dog Appeasing Pheromone. One name brand is Adaptil. You have probably tried everything but on the chance you haven‘t tried this... Good luck; it‘s maddening when you love the critter but hate the behavior. 4y
RainyDayReading There‘s a spray that my boyfriend and I use to keep the dogs from chewing on the furniture. The spray tastes terrible and so far it has deterred them. You may also want to think about getting a calming collar for your dog. It emits a pheromone that helps them relax and not feel the need to chew.We used it when we adopted our second dog to help her adjust/stop chewing and she‘s been fine since. They last about 30 days. 4y
LibrarianRyan @RainyDayReading I might have to try that collar. 4y

Sharv_Sona I feel bad for you. 😔 And maybe you should put on a very high surface next time and definitely get that collar or spray! 4y

The Fall of the Crazy House is an intriguing, action packed book that has lots of twists and turns. I recommend this book to those who love dystopian books. The book is a sequel to “Crazy House” which you should read prior to reading this book.

LibrarianRyan I bought this and am curious to see how it ends. The first book wasn‘t bad but it wasn‘t a masterpiece either. 5y
AndreaLove I completely agree, the first book was interesting enough to make me want to to read this one. 5y

I went a little wild at BN today. Everything but the tagged book was 20% off. Plus I had a 20% off my entire purchase. And the guy at the register gave me a special coupon for York that took $10 off so I got it for like $7. Not a bad trip.

Larkken 😳I'm really looking forward to York! 6y
LibrarianRyan @Larkken me to. I didn‘t remember that book 2 was out this month no was thinking it was September. 6y
mcipher Finale!! ♥️ My library won‘t let me put a hold on it for some reason so I might end up buying it if I really can‘t wait. 6y

Just finished the newest Crazy House book by James Patterson. I found myself engrossed in the story and kept reading to find out what would happen next. I‘m really hoping there will be another book in the series!

I‘m so freaking excited! I‘ve been waiting for this book for 2 years! I hate that this cover doesn‘t go with the original Crazy House cover at all, though.

This is a pretty standard Patterson cover, and a pretty standard Patterson Story. Book 1 was good. Not great, not awesome, not fabulous, but good. However I have to know how it ends.

I find Patterson lacks in world building when he is doing anything that touches on fantasy or Sci if. He relies on the actions. In the Maximum Ride series that really works, but not so much here. So hoping for more of the world.

SaturnDoo Yep, all his covers seem to follow a certain standard pattern. 6y
LibrarianRyan @SaturnDoo his imprints diet book was Gunslinger Girl. The cover just grabbed me and I enjoyed the story. The cover didn‘t exactly fit but it was pretty close. Then the paperback came out and it was standard Patterson. Matched the book none. It‘s so horrible. 6y
