But with her reputation hanging by a thread after shes abducted for her dowry, Georgie is given two options: live out her life as a spinster or marry the rogue who has ruined her life. Enter Option #3 As the fourth son of an earl, Nicholas Rokesby is prepared to chart his own course. He has a life in Edinburgh, where hes close to completing his medical studies, and he has no timeor interestto find a wife. A Marriage of Convenience It might not have been the most romantic of proposals, but Nicholas never thought shed say no. Georgie doesnt want to be anyones sacrifice, and besides, they could never think of each other as anything more than childhood friends... or could they? He was comfortable with her. He could make the sort of stupid comments that were only a little bit funny and made no sense. The kind one made when one didn‘t have to weigh every word and worry about judgment or scorn.

And the last of the Bridgerton prequels may be the most satisfying of the 4 stories for me. Nicholas and Georgie realizing that they were perfect for each other despite knowing each other as friends their whole lives just makes such a happy ending. #10-2023

I really enjoyed this book. It is so weird to think that couples really would have had to marry to avoid a scandal. I really loved these characters

Next up in my quest to read all of Julia Quinn A shed such a favorite! I especially love her dialogue 👏

Johanna414 I always have one of her audiobooks going... that I listen to as I go to bed. Rosalyn Landor has such a great voice! 3y
annahenke @Johanna414 oh she‘s absolutely brilliant! It‘s so touch and go with narrators who really get into voices but she‘s marvelous!! 3y

Love the peek into historical medicine with this one. Childhood friends to marriage of convenience, so many great tropes in here. Really enjoyable! #20in4 #readathon @Andrew65

Book 4 of the Rokesbys, a prequel to the Bridgertons. In face Violet, Edmund, Antony, Benedict, and baby Colin make cameos in this one. But Georgie is my least favorite of all the women. I like Nicholas, but Georgie‘s nativity and stubbornness was annoying.

Book 2 for #FabulousFebruary

julesG Is that JQ herself on the cover? 3y
wanderinglynn @julesG no idea. I don‘t know what she looks like. 3y
julesG Seems to be her. 3y

All Georgiana Bridgerton wants to do is #forget the scandal she's embroiled in, none of which is her fault! The book had such an interesting theme, and squandered it completely- it's the only Julia Quinn that I've found completely dreary and #forgettable!

I mean it‘s good but I was expecting more drama and conflict. Still maybe there‘s enough drama at the moment.

charl08 This cover is weird. Her head looks like it doesn't belong to her body 4y
charl08 Or is it just me? 4y
Verity @charl08 not just you. It‘s a weird drawing/figure/cover 4y

I loved this! It was laugh-out-loud funny at times, reminding me of my favorites among the Bridgerton series, and also incredibly sweet at others. I really enjoyed Georgie's interest in medicine and how she could pursue some of her interest, despite women not being able to be doctors at the time.

This is a delightful book! This is book 4 of the Rokesby series which is a prequel to the fabulous Bridgerton series. It even includes baby Bridgertons. Besides that treat, the protagonists are extremely likable in this marriage of convenience/friends to lovers romance. #romantsy

I loved this book; nothing crazy and no sudden surprises, just how a couple found love even with an odd start.
