“ This is the best day ever, I think.”
This would be a great book for students to encourage them to cheer on each other. Student could write how they support on another and are each others “ child leaders”. Good way to build a strong community.
It‘s time for the Sports Fair! But everyone is getting nervous about what they want to do. Good thing Dewdrop is there to cheer them on!
The nibling ended up reading this to me twice. Gorgeous coloring and adorable pictures, easy to read, and in their words “it‘s a story about friendships and helping other people and making them happy.” 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
Pretty picture book intermission! I've now exhausted my library's collection of works by K. O'Neill and I'm sad about it. 😢 Dewdrop is sweetly encouraging; Princess Princess Ever After is sweet enough to make my teeth ache, with good messages not seen enough in classic fairy tales for younger audiences. Moonday is further proof that when Adam Rex both writes AND illustrates a book, I will happily follow his whimsy anywhere.
3 ⭐ I wish I liked this book. I have been waiting to read it for a while. It‘s a graphic novel for the picture book age and I think it tries too many things. It‘s a celebration and people are competing or performing, but they get scared they are just not good enough. Dewdrop helps them remember to be who they are, and if they like what they are doing that is all that matters.

Cute children‘s book about an axolotl and his friends. He is very encouraging to his friend. I‘m trying to get to all of Katie‘s books. The next Tea Dragon doesn‘t come out until next year.
My littlest made her own Dewdrop-inspired family. ? We call this edible art, "You axolotol questions!"
That was about as sweet and adorable as the cover art suggested. Great for young readers! Lots of self-affirmation throughout. And what could be better than a comic about a little axolotl? #comic #kidscomic #selfaffirmation #axolotl
i L❤VE TH❗S hybrid between #picturebook and #graphicnovel My favorite themes in it are self doubt, struggling with practice, and supporting your friends' interests.
And the cuteness level?? All the way to 11. Good for all readers. Great for fans of axolotls and other pond critters. #dw2020reads
I love all of Katie O'Neill's graphic novels so I definitely wanted to check out her first picture book. It was cute with a positive message about doing the things you enjoy for yourself and not others. There are animal facts in the back of the book as well as a great message on the importance on water life conservation.
