Positive masculinity: ✅ Female lead with agency: ✅ Sexy will-they-won‘t-they romance: ✅ I really love when female characters are active and in touch with their sexuality in romance novels, it makes the dynamic so much healthier and more fun to read.

This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ historical romance. Victorian setting which is one of my favorites. The trope impoverished Duke rich American and voila you‘ve got a read. The female MC was at times unlikable but the hero was a solid book boyfriend

This regency romance was okay. I didn‘t care for August, but I did like Rothschild. The story was okay—impoverished Duke needs a heiress to save his estates. Not my favorite romance trope.

Comfy slippers and a good book 📖

I was pretty excited about this book when I first started it, but my interest waned as it went onI thought the spark between the love interests at the beginning and their chemistry throughout the book really worked in the context of a romance, but the impediments to them getting together seemed exaggerated to me and contributed to my waning interest in the second half. Loved the Gilded Age/British Aristocracy setting, though. Mild pick.

Enjoying this audiobook. Love the Gilded Age time period, the narrator is really good, and the writing is very witty so far. 25% in and I‘m also glad the book hasn‘t just gone straight to boning like a lot of these historical romances do. The best romances have an appropriate amount of relationship building and tension.

DNF. I saw feedback that it starts out slowly, but this just fell flat for me. Not even the meet cute made me want to stick with it.

Just what I needed to prevent a reading slump.

I really enjoyed August‘s drive for independence regardless of what the times might have dictated. She was smart and fierce and also fiercely protective of her siblings. I love that the things society may have shunned her for are the things Evan loved about her. Her parents were honestly kind of awful and I didn‘t see that coming seeing as how her dad had been so supportive of her work.

I don't usually read books with titles like this... but two words grabbed me in the series title: “Gilded“ and “Age.“ I gave it 4* and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

DNF. I just couldn‘t with this book. The writing was very boring and stiff in my opinion. I thought it had an interesting concept of August‘s sister, who is an American Heiress being arranged to marry a Duke in England who is in financial ruin, but August and the Duke end up falling in love.

I loved it!! A super-duper swoony, enemies-to-lovers, “wealthy heiress marries handsome Duke” story. The best part is the way Evan pursues August. There is mutual respect and he adores her for her intelligence and her love of work. They have fruitful conversations. So good!! This is going on my rereads shelf!!

A million thanks to Berkley Publishing for allowing me to read this absolute GEM of a historical romance. Can‘t wait for the next book!!

This book fell flat for me...predictable plot and boring characters

I love when taking a chance on a new author pays off! Evan and August's dynamic was so good, especially his genuine desire to have her keep her job even after they marry. Can't wait to see what St. George does next! #romance #historicalromance
