When an injured hiker stumbles from the woods, someone who seems to have come to the Yukon for a wilderness vacation but instead is now fighting for her life, its all hands on deck. What or who attacked this woman, and why? With the woman unconscious, and no leads, Casey and Eric dont know where the threat is coming from. Plus, the residents of their deeply secretive town are uneasy with this stranger in their midst. Everyone in Rockton wants this mystery solved and fast.

I love this series. It's the 6th book in the Rockton Series..Casey and Dalton go to do a trade with a group, when a stranger comes out of the woods badly hurt and collapses. No one knows who she is, but her presents leads to Casey solving another mystery she has been working on since she got to Rockton.

I like two books to be caught up with Kelley Armstrong's Rockton series. Starting this next. The 8th one comes out February 21. I have the ARC from Netgalley, so I need to read #6 and #7. This one is #6.

Love this series. This one involved a tricky crime and plenty of false trails while also doing a deep dive into how the various settlements formed. Ready for the next entry!

This is the 6th book ins the series! It didn‘t disappoint. For a small group of people living in the wilderness a lot of dead bodies sure show up out of no where.

I initially thought this was just going to be a repeat of all the other books in the series but of course there was a fresh new take on it. There are some parts that get redundant but those help you haven‘t read the other books in the series yet. Couldn‘t put the book down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

MaleficentBookDragon Aside from the dead bodies, I‘d like to live in Rockton. 😄 3y

June was a slow reading month for me, I had a lot of trouble focusing on anything. But, I did complete my #BookSpin selection and get a #BookSpinBingo, and the bright highlighters give me a smile on a dreary grey morning!

How was your reading month? Any highlights?

SamAnne I had a great reading month. Had I finished the second half of Moby Dick I would have gotten 2 bingos! Alas. But I never score one so that‘s okay. Best reads were Hamnet and I Hold A Wolf By it‘s Ears. 3y
TheKidUpstairs @SamAnne Hamnet was my best read of the month as well! Best read of the year so far. 3y

Such a great series! Here, a hiker is found badly injured and appears to not speak English while her companions are found dead. It seems to involve the hostiles, but what‘s happening is initially unclear. This book is a great addition to the series and the ending has me very excited for where the story is heading!

TheKidUpstairs I love this series so much. Can't wait for the next one! 3y
MaleficentBookDragon I really like this series too. 3y
Hooked_on_books @TheKidUpstairs @MaleficentBookDragon I can‘t think of another mystery series with such a unique setting! Plus great, complex characters. So good! 3y

Hooked_on_books @Anna40 This is a mystery series! This author also writes urban fantasy, but there are no fantastical elements here. Here‘s the first book: 3y

An injured Danish hiker is found, the only apparent survivor of a vicious attack from the hostiles. While maybe not my favorite in the Rockton series, Book 6 (and Casey) answered several questions about the settlement history & the hostiles, kept me madly turning the pages & seems to set things up for an intriguing Book 7, although now it‘s another year to wait. I really enjoyed Casey, Dalton & the supporting characters & I‘ll keep reading them.

Book number 6 in the Rockton series. This is the first one that I have.not loved. Very political. I prefer the focus on surviving in the wilds of the Yukon.

This “A Really Good Chana Masala Recipe” from Heidi Swanson, is just that, really good w/ lots of flavor & acidity. Calling it stew so it fits into #SouperSundays on the blog. Recipe link⬇️

The latest book from the Rockton series I ❤️. Just got the library ebook after picking up the library print copy yesterday. Trying to slow down, both because I have other books I need to read for reviews & because I don‘t want to finish & wait a year.🤷🏻‍♀️

I totally loved this #BookBinge catching up on Armstrong‘s fantastic Rockton series! Coming out next month, this sixth installment opens up six months after the close of the fifth one- a little party is interrupted by a barefoot and injured stranger- though she‘s not the only stranger who comes to Rockton! Answers to the mystery of the wild folk in the woods comes together here in another exciting and hard to put down plot! Can‘t wait for #7!
