Anyone else a fan of Claire Legrand? I love her writing so much. I fell head over heels for her YA books, which always seem to feature fierce, chaotic, unapologetic girls. Then I discovered her middle grade/children's fiction and fell even more in love with her whimsical words! Here are the newest two books of hers that I have gotten - I can't wait to read them! After reading Furyborn I wanted to read everything Legrand wrote. This one was enjoyable but nothing compared to Furyborn. 4🌟 because it was enjoyable.

A bit jangly and rough in parts, but a book with heart. What I liked: Quicksilver is kind of a rotten kid who eventually redeems herself without losing what makes her rotten. What I found tiresome: the hero‘s journey part was too long - seven relics could have been five and the story would have been just as good.
Read this as a bedtime chapter book with your kids, especially if you love dogs.

All of a sudden this book is full of truth bombs.

Got a whole bunch of books signed yesterday at #NTTBF18. Some are new, most of these I had already. What an absolute blast getting to meet author friends in person and experience all that energy. And on top of it all, Simon & Schuster had an ARC copy of my book at their booth!! I gave them some bookmarks to give out, and it was all super cool.

I loved the magic of this book - not to mention the fact that I just wanted to hug my dog while reading it, right up until the very last page. Legrand's characters are gritty and charming, and this world she has created is dark, yet marvelous. Love, love, love.
