Today I thought I'd share a page from my #BulletJournal. It's my 2018 bookshelf! I use it to keep track of all the books I've read so far this year in a pretty and tactile way. Any other journalists out there? I'd love to see how you incorporate reading into your journals!

Bookcation74 This is awesome!! I keep a separate journal with the books I have read but it‘s simply a list with title, author, date read and rating. 6y
SledgeReader @rightasrain13 @Bookcation74 I love this in sooo many ways! 💕💕💕📚😄 6y
rightasrain13 @Bookcation74 It really helps me to keep track with pen and paper - sounds like you work the same way! I'm actually planning to start a separate book journal as well because I want to track more information than just the title, like you do 😊 6y

Wicked Like a Wildfire | Lana Popovic

Pickpick

This book was a lovely read. The teenaged main characters, twins Iris and Malina, are engaging and sympathetic, and when combined with the unusual setting and the folkloric, witchy magic, the result is something that draws you in. It is not a standalone novel, but it is only a two-part series and the sequel comes out this summer, so luckily you don't have to wait long for the conclusion of the story!

Briary Sounds intriguing, and that cover is just wonderful! In to the TBR it goes 😊📚 6y
rightasrain13 @Briary isn't the cover art gorgeous? If I'm being honest, it was a big part of what drew me to this book. The cover art for the sequel, Fierce Like a Firestorm, is equally beautiful! 6y

The Accident Season | Mora Fowley-Doyle

"Accidents happen. Our bones shatter, our skin splits, our hearts break. We burn, we drown, we stay alive." -Moira Fowley-Doyle, the Accident Season #youngadultfiction

This. Book. Is. Amazing. I couldn't put it down, it's equal parts mystery and thriller and YA with some magical realism thrown in. It also has some truly amazing twists. I can't recommend this Irish author highly enough!

Today's #AuthorFeature subject: my favorite #horror author, Jennifer McMahon! As you can see, I own all of her books because I love them so much. All of her horror books feature a mystery with paranormal elements, and she switches back and forth between the past and the present to reveal clues. Whether you're into reading about serial killers, fairies, zombies, haunted dolls, or witches, you'll find it here - and you'll sleep with the lights on!

Jess_Franzino Love a good paranormal mystery! I‘ll have to check out some books by this author 😃 6y
leahrosereads I've only read The Winter People and Night Sister so far, but I'm really hoping to get to her backlist soon. Both of those books were incredible! 6y
rightasrain13 @Jess_Franzino I highly recommend it! In my opinion you can't go wrong with her 😄 6y

rightasrain13 @leahrosereads You should definitely check out the rest of her stuff! Out of those two, the Winter People was my favorite I think - so spooky. What about you? 6y
leahrosereads @rightasrain13 Oh yeah, the Winter People was by far my favorite. I preferred the overall atmosphere of it to The Night Sister. I think I'm going to try Burn Town before going to her other works, but Im not sure. What do you think? 6y
Jess_Franzino @rightasrain13 I‘ll add one of her books to my June reads. What‘s the title of the one about the spooky doll? 6y
rightasrain13 @Jess_Franzino That would be Dismantled - the doll is so creepy, I still get chills thinking about it! 6y
rightasrain13 @leahrosereads I definitely agree - I liked the Winter People better! I think it's actually one of my favorites of hers. Burntown was not my favorite, but it's obviously still really good, so you can't go wrong really no matter what order you read them in 😊 6y

If you're feeling down or just love to laugh when you read, this book is for you! Sloane Crosley's essays about her life experiencesmade me laugh out loud from start to finish. I also have her book How Did You Get This Number?, which I am very much looking forward to reading! I'll post a review when I get to it. 😊 #essays #humor

Unbecoming of Mara Dyer | Michelle Hodkin
post image

For my first #SeriesFeature, one of my very favorite book series: the Mara Dyer trilogy. I was drawn in from the first page by Mara, a protagonist who is multi-faceted in an unusual way. Certain parts of Mara are hidden away even from herself until later on in the series, which links the reader and the main character on a journey of discovery. I loved the genre mash up as well, which includes mystery, sci-fi, horror, and YA. #youngadultfiction

“While the dipping blaze / Dyed her face fire-red; // And would sigh at the tale / Of sunk Lyonesse, / As a wind-tugged tress / Flapped her cheek like a flail / Or listen at whiles / With a thought-bound brow / To the murmuring miles / She is far from now." - Thomas Hardy, Unexpected Elegies
"I Found Her Out There" is a standout poem amid a truly beautiful collection. I wrote a research paper on it last year and there's so much to analyze! #poetry

It's time for my first #AuthorFeature! I've loved Deb Caletti from the very first page of The Six Rules of Maybe, my first and favorite foray into Caletti's writing. She excels at creating beautifully flawed characters and interesting moral dilemmas for them to struggle through. Her books make me laugh, they make me cry, and her writing style is a dream. Check her out and you will not be disappointed! #ya #youngadultfiction #debcaletti
