I adored Bryn, she was likable and easy to relate to. I also ended up liking the romance in this book. It somehow worked and I enjoyed it. Henrik was a fantastic character! I loved how confusing & intriguing character he was.

This was a bit brutal, the world was quite violent. I loved that, it made this super thrilling to read.

Really intriguing read.

I didn't care for the other books in the series, so I didn't have high hopes coming into this one. Man, I was surprised. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were a little hard to get to know, but I'm not too bothered by that because the story really carried them. It was completely different from the other books, and I'm glad. Things actually happened, and it felt more put together than the others.

A spin-off from the Fable series, this book is a story of the Roth family, in particular, Bryn. Fated to join the family business, Bryn learns to navigate her Uncle's demands while saving herself and the one she loves most in the family.

I loved Fable and Namesake, both 5 stars for me. So I was super excited to get to this one, and unfortunately it will only be a 3 star read for me. I loved the first 2 because the world and the sea was so beautiful, I loved Fable, and I loved the adventure. But this one was so heavy on the romance I didn't like it as much. I wanted more adventure! And none of it was on the sea! Also the ending just kinda cut off. Hoping for better for the next one

While this isn‘t my favorite of Young‘s YA fantasy novels, I overall enjoyed listening to this #audiobook. Bryn leaves her great-aunt‘s care after her 18th birthday to return to the Roth family seat. The Roth‘s have rough edges & some criminal ways, but Bryn is determined to find her place amongst them. Less-action packed & though set in the same world as FABLE, this works as a standalone. The romance takes over a lot of the focus. #AudioColoring

Bryn is thrust into a world she thinks she knows but is sorely prepared for. She struggles with the cold way her family treats her and they way they do business. She quickly realizes she is just a pawn for them.

The mark of maturity is the ability to handle your current situation. Bryn blossoms into a force of nature.

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 264.

I'm a huge fan of Adrianne Young. Yes, her plots can be a bit predictable, but she's great at capturing character nuances and I've never read a more believable battle scene than 'Sky in the Deep'.

Her newest book takes place in the same world as 'Fable' and focuses on the newest member of a crime family trying to go legit. The enemy-to-lover plot was a little underdeveloped, but overall the book was fun. Exactly what I expect from Young.

I have a kidney bean shaped reading pillow that I use to prop up my book, but tonight Tommy has decided it's his. I guess I put my book on top of the cat on top of the pillow?

Adrienne Young sent out this novella with her newsletter last week. It's in the same world as Fable, Namesake, and the tagged book (which comes out next month). Since the ARC of the new book is my next read I figured I'd check out the novella first. It's 90° and humid today, so I'm reading in the livingroom.

A stand alone book back in the world of Fable, This was a fun and fast paced story. Perhaps a bit too fast paced as the ride felt like it sped to get in all of the intrigue and danger at the expense of developing the characters and relationships. A light pick.

BethM I like the cover. 3y
