The mystery is only part of the story here. Anna Lee Huber‘s description of Verity‘s attempts to come to terms with her brother‘s death during the war is the true star of this book!
This is the 5th book in the Verity Kent Mystery Series & it keeps up the same high standard as the other books in the series.
The events take place in her home town in Yorkshire, in 1919, but much of the story still relates back to her time as a spy during the war. Verity really is a strong character, but in this book we see more of her vulnerable side as she returns home & has to deal with unresolved grief for her brother who died 4 years before.
