The audiobook was not my speed. I had to bail out after the first couple of chapters because the protagonist sounds the same killing a rapist and consoling a girl that is a victim of domestic violence. I should have loved the story, but the narrator just didn‘t work for me. I might try the paperback later on

I really enjoyed this unusual mystery, and it‘s a #kindledeal today. @BarkingMadRead the sequel is due out February 7. 😀🥧

So much fun!! My first time participating in #auldlangspine and @monalyisha knows how to match up the perfect pairs! I have three of these books on my shelves, and I can‘t wait to read them in January! The tagged book looks like fun (they all do!) and I‘m going to hunt it down before January 1st! This book was everything I needed this week. Seriously. Had zero expectations and I LOVED every second of it. Sassy, a great plot with shocking twists, equal parts cutesy with enjoyable characters. I have not one bad thing to say about it, it was utterly delicious.

The Ellery women have always had magic and they have used it as a positive force. Daisy‘s abilities manifest in being able to infuse her baked goods calm, confidence, and even death. Through a referrals only process Daisy assists women in getting justice or in ridding themselves of abusive men. She struggles with whether or not she is using her power appropriately. . More feminist than I expected. I loved this book!

Is there such a thing as a cozy thriller? I think this book might make for the argument.

I devoured this book and I can't wait for more in this series.

I was pleasantly surprised at every turn with this book. It's fun mix of magical realism, thriller, mystery with a dash of romance (with bonus points for LGBTQ rep).

This definitely falls into the cozy mystery genre, which is often one I struggle to get into, but this concept really appealed to me and I felt pretty invested from the start. I can‘t say that I was madly in love with the story as a whole, but I did enjoy it.
