Today seems to be Kevin Hearne Day! Finished two books by him today

I could not find a physical edition of both of Oberon's Meaty Mysteries in english, so I am glad that they were released in German now!
@Maike Despite the horrendous German titles of the Iron Druid series, the translation of the story was actually not bad at all. I was prepared for a Desaster, but even the puns seemed mostly alright 😁

Maike Who would have thought 😄 even the title is decent 6y

Oberon‘s POV AND the introduction of a new dog for their crew. What could be better?

Finished this audiobook this morning. Loved it! It gave me a dose of Atticus while I‘m patiently waiting for @KevinHearne to release the next Iron Druid book. I loved that this was from Oberon‘s perspective. The reader did a fabulous job with the voices as always.

BarbaraTheBibliophage I'm just starting this series. It's so good! 7y
Gdsjenny It is one of my favorites! 7y

““I must outweigh him by like 3 cows.” Oberon
...
“Cows is not a unit of measure” Atticus. “ Hearn has a way of getting into a dogs‘ head like no one else I know. (Via audiobook, sorry if I misquoted any little words)

Imagine how much Oberon the Irish Wolfhound sheds. I hope Atticus has perfected the ancient Druidic art of dog hair clean-up. #hairthereandeverywhere #anditsaugust

Excellent romp with Oberon as the narrator. Bonus that this is for #liberthday! I didn't preorder this and it was limited release so I missed out. I turn 30 on the 28th, but we have 4 July bdays in my fam so we celebrated last night. My mom scoured the net and found this for me! Getting it signed next week in Madison!!! Pictured with my own loving hound, Benelli. #dogsoflitsy

If you're on Twitter or Facebook, Subterranean's holding another pet pics contest to celebrate Kevin Hearne's next Oberon mystery! I love these contests because they give me an excuse to awwwwww over everyone's mega-adorable pets. Some folks are sharing their local squirrels this time, too, on account of the hashtag.

The first thing that came to mind for todays #MayBookFlowers was Oberon from the Iron Druid Chronicles! Oberon has such #Childlike wonder for the world of sausage and squirrels and poodles 😁 I love #TIDC and I'm pretty sure #KevinHearne and I would be best friends! ❤️ #BookNerd

thegirlwiththebookishcandle I love TIDC too! I wish he would hurry up with the next one lol. And i love the faces Kevin Hearne pulls on IG, always makes me lol 8y

Happy Mothers Day weekend to me!
This mug is beautiful and so well made. I may have swooned a bit! And my "I hugged a yeti!" sticker ?I have a feeling I will cry a little after this series ends this summer.
I cannot wait until next spring when we get to go to Tempe!
(I order my own presents. It works well for all involved.)

melrailey Love them! 8y
ChasingOm I've been listening to these on audio recently and I 💜 them! I think I need that mug.... 8y
BethM I'm so jealous! I've been contemplating buying that mug for myself for awhile. I will also cry when it ends. @KevinHearne is such a cool dude- if you ever have the chance to meet him, it's totally worth the trip. 8y

lettersfromriya That mug is so cute! Makes me wanna find out what it's about. 8y
josie281 @lettersfromriya it's an urban fantasy centered around a Druid in modern AZ. It's now one of my favorites. My teen loved it too. The audiobooks are great as well. 8y
lettersfromriya @josie281 I'll already put it on my amazon wishlist xD 8y
BethM @josie281 I did sputter all over myself when I met him lol. I told him I felt like I was meeting a rockstar. 8y

"Starbuck and I hung our heads out the window and made plans to fight more crime, bring an end to the villainy of squirrels, and eat more steaks. The future was all gravy as far as we could see."

Great fun adventure and wonderful distraction in this short story set in the Iron Druid world! How can you go wrong with an Irish Wolfhound playing Sherlock?

Just what I needed tonight, some Druid and hound fun!

I love Atticus (and gang), and this story from Oberon's (the wolfhound's) POV, with its confusion about metaphors, time lengths, colors, and other fun "details" is just the lighthearted read for the night. ?

NovelGirl82 I actually haven't read any of these. I think it's dangerous for me to have you recommending me books on two different platforms! 😂😂 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 True story, that's the only 'problem' with Litsy, too many great recommendations! This is a great adventure, fun series though. I'd definitely recommend this one, and it's also really good on audiobook if you like listening to books. I got hooked on it that way. 8y
NovelGirl82 I am a huge audiobook fan! They get me through much of my work week. I'll have to see what I can find! 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 The definitely look for that, the narrator, Luke Daniels, does a great job with this one. The first book is 8y
NovelGirl82 Awesome! Thanks girl! I'm always looking for good audiobooks. 8y

Great big BEARS, I loved this novella! What a treat to have all Oberon, all the time. And, as always, Luke Daniels's performance is superb - especially as it was mostly in Oberon's voice. I love this series!!!

"You know, like you get sometimes with those thriller novels and you just disappear for an hour and I don't know where you were until you come out and complain your legs went to sleep on the toilet?" (hangs head, raises hand) Sometimes you just get caught up in the story ...

Very funny. I love Kevin Hearne's writing but I was not sure I wanted to read a book from a dog's perspective. I am glad I did....well written, laugh out loud funny. Highly recommended to any Iron Druid fans.

Day 10: Best Narrator

Last month, The Purloined Poodle was released which is written with Oberon the Irish Wolfhound, as the narrator. It's gravy.

Luke Daniels does the audiobook narration for all of these and it cannot be beat!

booksandcats13 I think this is a very good choice 😉 8y

At the Rula Bula today in Tempe today for some fish and chips. Wondering which table would be best to hide an invisible Oberon.

This book started strong but kind of fizzled at the end. I do like that it is not exactly the story that oberon tells his human during their adventures in the Iron Druid series and I love that it's based in Portland, OR, but I thought it wrapped up too quickly and the middle of the story was somewhat weak. Still worth the read and, as always with Kevin Hearne, hilarious. 3.5/5 stars

While not as hotly anticipated by me as a full Iron Druid book, I really enjoyed this light novella. Maybe even more per word than a full novel since Oberon and Atticus's conversations are usually my favorite part of the books.

This was a nice little snack while waiting for Iron Druid to wrap up. It was a pleasant romp of an adventure, getting to spend time with some of my favorite characters without any *too* heavy topics, and meeting some new friends. I sincerely hope that we get some more adventures from Oberon.

Also, as always, Luke Daniels is just *brilliant*. He really brings Oberon to life.

Oh, Kevin Hearne; I've not stopped smiling for three hours while listening to this book (Kudos to the narrator Luke Daniels). How absolutely wonderful was this meaty mystery with our most beloved Hound, Oberon. Loved romping through and meeting many dogs along the way to catching the villains. Ta, Kevin!

This newest novella by Kevin Hearne is great. It is written from Oberon's perspective, and has the style of a detective novel. There is much lest action in this novella than the other books of the series, but is still plenty of thrilling moments along with Oberon's humorous way of thinking. If you like detective novels it is a nice one within the IDC universe.

The most recent installment of the Iron Druid Chronicles does not disappoint. I very much enjoyed the storyline, and the set up for future adventures left me ready for more. Bonus points for so much Oberon.
