Five Little Monkeys Jumping On Bed
Five Little Monkeys Jumping On Bed | Eileen Christelow
20 posts | 17 read
The beloved, modern childrens nursery rhyme is sure to delight in this edition from the author and illustrator of Robins! and Vote! Five little monkeys jumping on the bed. One fell off and bumped his head. The mama called the doctor. The doctor said, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" Their teeth are brushed, their pajamas are on, and as soon as they say good night to Mama, the five little monkeys start to jump on their bed! But trouble awaits as, one by one, they fall off and bump their heads! The uproarious rhyme is brought to life in this family favorite. With its mischievous illustrations and surprising twist, this contemporary classic is the perfect addition to any home library.

This would be good for kindergarteners or 1st graders becuase they might know it already and realize it‘s poetry

My favorite children‘s book!! Published in 1989, this popular book is a common folk rhyme in most households. Easy repetitive rhythm for children to sing along to!

Djspens That's funny 😂 6y
quirkyreader I used to read this book in ASL to many of my former students. And because I read it so many times I am able to do it from rote. 6y
Smrloomis @quirkyreader nice! Was it hard for you to learn ASL? 6y
acg This plot summary sounds a little ominous 👀 6y
Smrloomis @seekingthespheres you‘re right - it‘s worrying , no? 🤔 6y
quirkyreader I like languages and I can pick some of them up rather easily. I only took one semester of ASL but what I did learn I was mostly able to retain by working with non-verbal kiddos. And as you know, the more you practice a language it stays with you. 6y
Smrloomis @quirkyreader interesting. Was it all that different to learn to sign than to speak a language? I‘ve never taken ASL but assumed learning it and using it might be somehow different than speaking another new language. 6y
quirkyreader It is different. And the language structure is rather unique. But then again English is a weird language considering how it has assimilated words from other languages. And the oddest thing I have found about English is its sentence structure. That‘s why when you are translating into English you need a moment to get the sentence structure correct. (edited) 6y
Smrloomis @quirkyreader hmm, I‘ve always wanted to study ASL but have never gotten around to it. Maybe someday! 6y

This is my 2 year old‘s current favorite. She loves shaking her finger “no” at the doctor‘s part. She‘ll read it to herself and do all the actions. #novemberbythenumbers

CoffeeK8 This is my two year olds favorite too! 7y
AmyG This is my great niece's favorite, too. Her Mom just sent me a video of her "reading" it. ❤️ 7y

I spent the entire day cleaning my house, and now all I want to do is crawl in this bed and read a book... or sleep. I really should do some schoolwork because I'm hopelessly behind, but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow.

MrBook Oooh, lovely! 😊👏🏻👏🏻 8y

AWahle He's got a head start! My kids always knew they could talk me into getting them a new book or taking them to the library. At 18 and 20 they are still voracious readers. 8y
