You are cordially invited to the wedding of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo. The Death Star is destroyed. Darth Vader is dead. The Empire is desolate. But on the forest moon of Endor, among the chaos of a changing galaxy, time stands still for a princess and her scoundrel. After being frozen in carbonite, then risking everything for the Rebellion, Han is eager to stop living his life for other people. He and Leia have earned their future together, a thousand times over. And when he proposes to Leia, its the first time in a long time hes had a good feeling about this. For Leia, a lifetime of fighting doesnt seem truly over. There is work still to do, penance to pay for the dark secret that she now knows runs through her veins. Her brother, Luke, is offering her that chanceone that comes with family and the promise of the Force. But when Han asks her to marry him, Leia finds her answer immediately on her lips . . . Yes. Yet happily ever after doesnt come easily. As soon as Han and Leia depart their idyllic ceremony for their honeymoon, they find themselves on the grandest and most glamorous stage of all: the Halcyon, a luxury vessel on a very public journey to the most wondrous worlds in the galaxy. Their marriage, and the peace and prosperity it represents, are a lightning rod for allincluding Imperial remnants still clinging to power. Facing their most desperate hour, the soldiers of the Empire have dispersed across the galaxy, retrenching on isolated planets vulnerable to their influence. As the Halcyon travels from world to world, one thing becomes abundantly clear: The war is not over. But as danger draws closer, Han and Leia find that they fight their best battles not alone, but as husband and wife.

I found this very choppy and bland. Parts of it were interesting and it was fun to see a new take on the relationship between Han and Leia. Overall though it was just meh

I loved it, it was very movie esque. Finally, the battle of Endor is over, Palpatine is dead, and the Empire is ending. So Han and Leia get married, and then they head off on their honeymoon, which turns into a new mission 🩵

wisherwishinguponastar Is it Han instead of Luke? We don‘t need a repeat of Hoth. 😂 Also, this has been the first Star Wars book to get me excited in a while. Glad to here it is good. 13mo
BookwormAHN @wisherwishinguponastar Ha ha, good catch. I definitely meant Han 😸 And it is one that I've been really excited about as well. 13mo

It wasn't as cheesy as I first feard it would be. Leia Organa does not do cheesy. and the insights into her and Hans relationship gave me a new understanding for those two. But the most important part of this book were the scenes that showed us Leias special connection to the force. She's a Skywalker after all.
The plot itself couldn't catch me. It felt too much like a movie, which doesn't work for me.

📚📚📚📚📚 Great story, fast paced and a really good story about the galaxys‘ sweethearts. Do yourself a GIANT favor and get the audiobook narrated by Saskia Maarleveld & Marc Thompson; they‘re amazing!

Repost for @BookwormAHN:

n February, we dived into the Skywalkers. How did everyone enjoy it? I still have a bit left.
Now, on to March, I've been waiting for this one, The Princess and The Scoundrel. My favorite Star Wars couple is getting married ❤
As always, if anyone wants to be added or removed, just let me know. And May the Force Be With You Always!

Jari-chan The Skywalker book was a surprise for me, I didn't expect to like it as much as I finally did 🤭 Not sure about the next one, since I'm not one for weddings and romance stuff 😅 14mo
BookwormAHN @Jari-chan Typically, I'm not either, but I'll make an exception this time. Also, most of the adventure is on the honeymoon or surviving the honeymoon 😺 14mo

The_Literary_Jedi I‘m behind on Skywalker too BUT…I was able to secure the audio for PatS and SotS so I *think* I might catch up 😀 14mo
BookwormAHN @The_Literary_Jedi Yea! I also just got the audiobook of PatS from the library 😺 14mo
PuddleJumper Oh no, is the Courtship of Princess Leia no longer canon? 🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing how this one deals with it 14mo
BookwormAHN @PuddleJumper I figured they would redo it eventually 😸 14mo

4⭐As someone who is only an occasional reader/listener of Star Wars Books, I found this to be quite good. It did get bogged down in the middle but overall I can‘t help but ship the romance between Han & Leia...I think I love their banter most of all. Although it was hardly all romance, there was some action, too. It also had some possible foreshadowing as to the reason that Han & Leia aren‘t together in subsequent movies.
