Didn‘t live up to the hype and the cover is cheesy. There. I said it lol.

When I first saw the cover page of the book, I assumed it was just another typical romance novel, full of predictable steamy moments. But once I started the audiobook, I was hooked. The story took me by surprise, blending romance with thrilling suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. The paranormal twist added an unexpected layer of excitement. It‘s true—never judge a book by its cover! 📖📚✨📖

Honestly, I would have never read this book if I just based it by the cover and if it wasn‘t recommended by 3 coworkers. Cheesy romance /smut is not my thing but this was actually a pretty darn good story and good for the spooky season. I finished this in two days and the ending had a pretty good twist! This is definitely a case of not judging a book by its cover 😂
Sheweee, about 50% finished with this one and it‘s SPICY 🥵 Really good so far too!
So…it‘s The Others. I knew this book has a mind-blowing ending, so I went into it knowing it probably wasn‘t a scooby-do ending (it was the neighbor the whole time!). Unfortunately, I figured out what was going on almost immediately. As soon as Kayla mentions the knocks on the door, lights going off when she turns them on, tv doin the same thing, I was like “oh, she‘s dead.” It was a quick read, but anti-climatic. And very sad.
Not great literature here, but a compelling story that I read in one day. Kayla meets the love of her life 3 weeks after her husband drowns. On the downside way too much smut and too much supernatural stuff with the lights flickering etc. On the plus side a very interesting ending that made the book worth reading. And I mean it when I say the ending was one total surprise.

🤔🤔🤔 I don‘t know how I feel about this book. Did I read it in one day because I couldn‘t put it down yes. When I figured out the plot twist and realized it‘s just basically the plot of a Nicole Kidman movie I‘ve already seen with lots of smut and odd couple pet names Bunny and lion??? Was I a bit ticked? Maybe but I guess that‘s the joy of reading ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one of those books that you read thinking it is going to be all about the romance and the spice but it is the plot that really grabs you. Loved this story and the ending just blew me away. 4.5⭐️🔥🔥🔥

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Domestic abuse, violence, mental illness. This isn't for everyone but this has been blowing up all over social media for it's dark romance/erotic thriller category! Basic plot, a widow receives mysterious letters that lead to a torrid affair with an enigmatic stranger that results in a shocking, twist finale! Again, not for everyone but if you like this genre, this was one is definitely different!
This book had so much potential and then the ending! 😫 That‘s a plot twist I didn‘t see coming nor did I like it. It reminded me of a movie I‘ve seen.
Book 18 of 2023 and my 4th 5 🌟
- “You‘re the chaos. You‘re the storm. You‘re the one creating the high winds and choppy seas you have to navigate. You‘re the source of everything that‘s happening. In other words, you‘re the one with the power.”
- “Pain is the cost of love. And the deeper your love goes, so too goes the pain. You can never have one without the other.”
The spice in this book is great! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I really loved this one. It is pretty spicy but I seriously enjoyed the plot. Here comes a spoiler…

About halfway through I had a moment where a scene in the book connected in my head to a movie with a hardcore plot twist. Remember the movie The Others? Seriously though this book was pretty excellent.
Loved every second if it! Spicy, mysterious, kept me interested the whole time!
Booktook lured me in.
It was marketed as a steamy, dark romance book. Look at the cover. So I was surprised in several ways.
There were some heavy unannounced triggers to abuse and violence. So be warned!
The plot twist came out of nowhere. And I LOVE this type of psychedelic ghost thrillers.
A homage to Dante's poem. It was beautifully woven into the story.
The "untraditional" happy ending was amusing. Revenge never appeared so appealing.
This one comes highly recommended. I started it last night and it has already peaked my interest.
