I‘ve enjoyed this trilogy, which focuses on the civil unrest during the mid- to late 1600s rather than the Tudors of her earlier books. They‘ve spanned witch hunts, kings coming and going, forging a life in the Americas, and, in this book, slavery and freedom, wealth and injustice and a truly despicable character you‘ll love to hate.

Thank goodness my library had a copy of the third book in this series.

One of my #MarchMadness #MarvelousMarch goals was to read this book. I love Philippa Gregory. She never disappoints. This one was no different. It left me wanting more.

A good merging of nonfiction & fiction. The plot can move a bit slowly, but retains the charm of a typical Gregory novel. Her character work is fantastic & the family saga continues to be interesting with the addition of a fourth generation. Livia is an excellent villain & may be one of the best characters in the book. I loved to hate her. The ending leaves things potentially open for further novels. Possibly my favorite in the series so far.

I have finished this book. I enjoy reading Philippa Gregory books. This book is the third book of the series. I enjoyed the characters and the plot of the story. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars!!!!

I tested positive for Covid yesterday after somehow managing to avoid it so far. I‘m hoping to use my time resting to chip away at this book, or maybe read some more Hallmark-y Christmas stories. #winterreadathon

• I LOVE Philippa Gregory and this is the third book in her incredible Fairmile Series. I‘ve been re-reading the second book (Dark Tides) while waiting for this release and I‘m SO excited to read it.

• I‘ve had Powers and Thrones at the top of my wishlist since before the hardback was released a year ago. I really wanted a paperback, and it just released last week. I LOVE Medieval History so much.
