Two exes wake up together with wedding bands on their fingers--and no idea how they got there. They have just one New Year's Eve at the end of 1999 to figure it out in this big-hearted and nostalgic rom-com from New York Times bestselling author Allison Winn Scotch. When college sweethearts Frankie and Ezra broke up before graduation, they vowed to never speak to each other again. Ten years later, on the eve of the new millennium, they find themselves back on their snowy, picturesque New England campus together for the first time for the wedding of mutual friends. Frankie's on the rise as a music manager for the hottest bands of the late '90s, and Ezra's ready to propose to his girlfriend after the wedding. Everything is going to plan--they just have to avoid the chasm of emotions brought up when they inevitably come face to face. But when they wake up in bed next to each other the following morning with Ezra's grandmother's diamond on Frankie's finger, they have zero memory of how they got there--or about any of the events that transpired the night before. Now Frankie and Ezra have to put aside old grievances in order to figure out what happened, what didn't happen...and to ask themselves the most troubling question of all: what if they both got it wrong the first time around?

I enjoyed this second chance at love romance! Both MCs were irritating (in different ways) but I wanted to know why their relationship failed and was interested to see the resolution.

Both MCs drove me a bit batty, so toxic lol. At least the tagged gave me a bingo #winterbingo

My highlight today was getting my Chicken Nugget toy in my happy meal. It‘s so cute I could cry 🥹

5feet.of.fury Awwww reminds me of the old toys! 12mo
NikkiM5 @5feet.of.fury yes! the classic is back 😍 12mo
tpixie I was frustrated with the characters as well. 12mo

Even Julia Whelen couldn‘t make me like Frankie. I just can‘t do a story where 90% of it is exes fighting, and characters are immature, mean, and can‘t take accountability.

tpixie I‘m reading this now. I agree. The main characters are irritating. I‘m reading this as a palate cleanser. lol it‘s leaving a bad taste 👅 13mo

Such a cute, second chance at love, new years read! It reminded me of a rom-com version of the “Hangover” and I really enjoyed it.

Even though I do nothing to acknowledge NYE I enjoy a book set with this theme. The NYE aspect with this story wasn‘t played up as much as I expected based on the cover art. I also thought it missed some real time (‘er fiction time) action because the two MCs were stuck in their own thoughts for so much of the story. Even still, I liked Frankie and Ezra in 1999 and would want to read where they are in 2023. ↓

marleed I think this is my last book of 2022. My plan is to spend the next few days reading 100 or so pages into books I wanted to read in ‘22, but I just wasn‘t in the mood to commit to the page count. I‘ve met my ‘22 reading goals, so maybe if I read down some pages of those neglected books, I‘ll actually finish them in January. 2y
Megabooks That‘s a really smart idea! 2y
marleed @Megabooks I thought so too! I looked at Dr Z yesterday apologizing that he likely wouldn‘t happen in ‘23 either. And then this little cheat idea came to mind - he‘s warming up in my hands right now! 2y

dabbe I evidently do nothing for NYE either since I had to think for a while what NYE actually meant. 😊 2y
marleed @dabbe omg - I love that! And damn, now I probably have you pondering just what you‘ll wear to your living room for the occasion! 2y
dabbe @marleed Too true! Jammies, anyone? 😂 2y

Perched up all day today to read this one, with Penny of course. This was a dynamic, sweet, and chaotic read. 3.5⭐️ #botm

I enjoyed this one and had a really easy time picturing the characters how I wanted to. I always appreciate 90s nostalgia so this was a win for me.

🍾 𝓑𝓸𝓸𝓴 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🥂

Who doesn't love a second chance story? Author 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐡 takes readers back to New Year's Eve 1999. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 is a frequently hilarious reminder of those days, but also a poignant, often heartbreaking story about 2 people who lost each other & their future together. Can they reclaim it ... or a better version?⭐⭐⭐⭐⁣⭐

GUESS 2: My second guess for this November #Aardvark clue!

☕️ = (?) This emoji stumps me a bit. I guess you need a coffee the morning after you drunkenly get married?
🧠 = Missing memories from the night before
🛏 = Waking up in bed with the college sweetheart you swore you'd never speak to again
🍰 = Wedding cake

Which of these two guesses sounds more realistic? Any other ideas?? The more I think about it the more I lean towards my other guess!

BarbaraBB I‘d say this one based on your explanation 2y
brittanyreads You're so good at these lol 2y
