Tough to review. The story of Lucy Bluecrowne, brother Liao, natural philosopher Max, and Acting Lieutenant Oliver is very interesting and well written...but I don‘t like the time-traveler/alien/guardian/whatever they are aspect. I felt the same about Bluecrowne; interesting story but not Greenglass House.

Today‘s #bookmail, my birthday presents to myself. I‘ll read them...eventually.

1. I struggle with this. I tend to hoard, but I‘m trying really hard not to keep books that don‘t deserve it. It‘s a work in progress. I usually take them to the used bookstore when I visit my MIL, but who knows when that will happen again.

2. tagged hardcover - somehow I missed a Greenglass House book! My set is HC so far and they must match!

This was not my favorite by Milford. The story was a bit dull. Just okay for me.

French ships, British ships, American ships, politics and espionage of Napoleon's wars, and four determined, brave, young protagonists trying to navigate it all-this book is amazing. Full of adventure,magic, and some of my favorite characters ever, it's one I will reread many times.
