Lady Alexandra Stafford shows no interest in the pleasures enjoyed by Regency London society, preferring to seek adventure as she helps the devilishly handsome Gavin investigate the murder of his father, the Earl of Blackmoor.

Mehso-so

This was just ok. Incredibly obvious “mystery” and not quite the level of romance I‘ve come to expect from my historicals . This is apparently a reissue if the author‘s first book from 10 yrs ago. For that reason, I‘d be willing to try a different one of hers. Book 6/6 for #bfcr2 so I‘ll adjust my goal and shoot of an improbable 12.

CocoReads I would suggest her Scandal and Scoundrel series. I absolutely adore 5y

4.5 Stars - I loved Alex and Gavin, they had great chemistry and wonderful dialogue. The secondary characters were also well written. I actually wished they had their own stories, (perhaps they do and I just haven't found them yet) Definitely a pick for me! ❤

It really warms my heart that some on found my blog by searching for the Earl of Stanhope. Freddie is one of my favorite secondary characters in The Season and I love how he's made little cameos over the years in some of Sarah MacLean's adult romances as well. Still hoping that one day he'll get a book of his own.

That feeling when you're cleaning your room and discover the notebook in which you write your first book. (Alex & Gavin's first kiss!)

This book inadvertently made me a romance reader! It's a swoon-worthy YA with boss lady friendships, gorgeous dresses, and a mesmerizing hero. I read it in middle school. Years later at the end of my first year of college, I picked up "A Rogue By Any Other Name" because I recognized the author, and now I'm a die-hard romance reader! The friendship and romance are equally strong in this book. It has a place of honor on my shelf.

I adore Sarah MacLean's novels but somehow missed the fact that she wrote a YA. This may have actually been her first novel. I really enjoyed it - the falling in love with the brothers' best friend trope is a weakness of mine. Book #7 complete for the #BookishOlympics!!

Megabooks Congratulations!! 🎉🎉🏅 8y
