Gumshoe noir among the LGBTQ community in 1950s San Francisco. Surprisingly successful and well written for a formulaic murder Mystery
This is the second book in the Andy Mills series, which is set in 1950s San Francisco. I think the narrator really nails the voices and vibe for these books. We get more of Andy‘s backstory in this one as previous relationships come up and Andy searches for someone blackmailing the gay community and then a murderer. I love all of the recurring characters and I look forward to the next one. #SeriesLove2023

The follow up to Lavender House did not disappoint.
Evander Mills continues his work as a private detective, trying to help the queer community, though many are quick to district the former cop. The setting, the film noir vibes, trying to find justice in an unjust world. ❤️ it‘s so descriptive & thrilling & compelling. I‘m not describing it well, but it‘s stunning. Loved it.

Will get a bit deeper into Magic Binds tonight.
LOVING The Bell In The Fog! I‘m obsessed I hope there‘s 100 books in this series.
I loved Lavender House, but The Bell in the Fog hits all the right notes. We‘re back in the city and Andy is finally making some friends when ghosts from his past complicate things.
