I just want to say, I started this audio yesterday and I fucking love it! Already laughing and crying.

I was at the 11th hour of the audiobook, right when Jones was starting to talk about SNL, when the library yanked my 6-day download back. I guess I‘ll put it on hold again but it‘s another 2 month wait. It‘s not exactly riveting and there‘s a ton of swearing which became kind of tedious, but I‘d like to hear about her later career. And I‘d like to hear a joke - I don‘t think she provided one in those 11 hours.
Last April review #bookspin. I loved this, I listened to the audio version which is narrated by Leslie. She talks about her life & experiences of getting into comedy. She is honest about the racism & misogyny she has (& continues) experience. Definitely a ton of cussing, if that‘s not your thing. Although my husband asked when I was going to be done with the book because my favorite phrase the last few days has been, “you know what Leslie Jones
Where do I start with Leslie Jones‘ memoir? Well, first, I really loved it. Second, it is by far the most emotional memoir I‘ve ever read. Leslie reads the audio book and she cries numerous times. Third, it is hilarious, which I very much expected 🙂 Honestly, it is a thoroughly entertaining audio experience.
This memoir is FANTASTIC. Despite the fact that the only things I have in common with Leslie Jones is that we‘re both women so much of this resonated with me. Highly recommend the audio because she went off script a lot (unless you really don‘t like cussing, then read it in print).
I loved listening to LJ tell her story. She has been through some tough shit.

What a wild ride! It was raw, honest, emotional, and hilarious. I love how she is so confident in who she is and how she refuses to be anything else. The audiobook experience was phenomenal - it felt like we were sitting in a room together and she was telling me stories. There were a number of times when she digressed from the book, which one would think might distract from the flow, but it just added to the experience. Loved this.
1. I have to do my taxes, and I need to catch up on laundry.
2. It changed CONSTANTLY until high school, when I had no idea what I wanted to do and experienced constant anxiety as a result. 😂 😭
3. My in-laws are taking the whole family to Cancun in June. Reading on the beach? Yes, please.
4. I'm currently listening to Leslie F*cking Jones by Leslie Jones. I'm loving it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Leslie Fucking Jones doesn‘t read straight from the print book, but rather uses it as an outline for the audio production. A 300-page memoir does not need to span a very frenetic 17 hours on audio. And I have a pretty foul mouth but, holy shit. These stories get lost in an absolute tsunami of swear words. I have to think the print version is better edited. The best parts were when she cracked up at her own expense. She has the best laugh!
So funny! Heartfelt and open, Leslie Jones narrates her #audiobook and you hear the emotion, tears, and all the times that she cracked herself up. This was pretty long on audio, 17 hrs, and I suspect that is due to some embellishing and tangents (which she alluded to). This was filled with cursing and not for the easily offended. If you are a fan, or just love strong women with no effs to give, this is for you. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
I listened to the audiobook. Not sure what the actual book is like, because I‘m pretty sure Leslie just took the topic of each chapter and then just told stories for a few hours, and then moved onto the next chapter. And even though she‘s all over the place, I was thoroughly entertained. She‘s had a lot of challenges and there were several surprisingly moving spots. Coming into fame later in life makes her story unique and interesting. Enjoyed it.
Before I even go into this review, I gotta tell you I love Leslie Jones! She is one of the funniest women in the business and one of my all-time favs on SNL. She's killing it on The Daily Show and her social media is the best. And this memoir embodies the reason why I admire her so much...she worked her a** off to get to where she is. She doesn't take the edge off of anything she went through, making this feel like you are sitting with her.
I really enjoyed Leslie‘s memoir. The audiobook sort of feels like she is having a conversation with you and makes the 16+ hours fly by. Leslie‘s life has its ups and downs, but throughout it she has such confidence and belief in herself. She is fucking hilarious and inspiring.
When I heard this book was in the 200 page range with a 16.5 hour audiobook, I knew I had to listen to it. Jones seems to use the print book as a jumping off point and just tells the stories she wants. It‘s outstanding. I haven‘t followed her career at all, but I love that she was old enough when she became famous that she was able to advocate for herself in so many ways.
Leslie Jones‘ life story. She is absolutely hilarious, has gone through so much, and takes shit from no one. Some great life lessons in here on how to stand up for yourself.
I highly recommend the audio. Leslie Jones read it herself and said she did not read it word for word, and I've heard there was added content. Listening to her was like having a conversation. It felt like she was in the room talking to me. Her story is amazing. She is amazing, and funny, and real. I was cheering her on. She is a great example of a person advocating for themselves. If swearing offends you, the book is not for you.
Just watched Leslie Jones speak about her book at her author event In Philadelphia. It was AWESOME😆! She is awesome. I can‘t wait to read her book. It‘s going to be my next read! #bookevents #booksigning #memoir #newrelease #goodbooks
I dunno about you, but I think I‘m MORE likely to read Leslie‘s memoir with that title 🤷🏻♀️😉
