Death in Irish Accents
Death in Irish Accents | Catie Murphy
5 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
After a long streak of avoiding murder investigations, Dublin limo driver Megan Malone thought her life had finally settled . . . but even her Irish luck cant keep her out of trouble forever in Catie Murphys fourth Ireland-set cozy mystery Its been over a year since Megan found herself entangled in a murdermuch to everyones relief, including her girlfriend Jelena and Detective Paul Bourke. So when a body of a young woman quite literally lands in her lap at her favorite Dublin caf, Megan tries to do the right thing and leave the crime-solving to the police so she can enjoy the St. Patricks Day weekend. After all, she has no connection to the victim. Or does she? Megans latest client, world-renowned romance novelist Claire Woodward, is fascinated by Megans own history of catching killers. Claire also just happens to be the murder victims literary mentor. So maybe Megan can just sort of stay on the periphery of the case while trying to help out? Just a wee bit without causing too much fuss? Even Detective Bourke would approve since he has personal reasons not to trust Claire. The investigation leads Megan to the victims writing group, who think that Claire has plagiarized the poor young ladys work. And when another member of the group is found dead, Megan will have to step up her sleuthing before the killer decides to write her off for good.

Megan,a American transplant to Dublin, has a penchant for solving murders.Although she says these cases just land in her lap,( this time, literally) her partner Jelena thinks her big heart & ability to listen lands her in the middle of it all.In her job as limousine driver & tour guide,Megan is sought out by a world renowned romance writer for her “expertise“ in all things Irish & murder! #dublindrivermystery #seasonalcozies #March

random_michelle This has been sitting on my TBR for awhile. I generally love CE Murphy's writing, and I love cozy mysteries. I need to move this up the pile! 8mo

It feels appropriate to have some small dog assistance while I read a cozy mystery where the protagonist has two small dogs. Angus mostly slept through the first 135 pages of DEATH IN IRISH ACCENTS, but I‘m having a marvellous time watching Megan try really, really hard not to investigate a local emerging writer‘s murder. The real author cameos are fun, too. Stephanie Burgis, Juliet McKenna, and Adrian Tchaikovsky all play roles.

dabbe Hello there, most adorable pup! 🖤🐾🖤 1y

This week‘s library haul features a variety of queer books (a cozy mystery, an historical romance, and a fantasy), plus a couple of unplanned shelf picks in the form of a poetry collection and a novel by a writer whose short fiction I‘ve enjoyed.
