I can not express how much I really loved reading this book. The messiness, the embracing the perfection in imperfection, it made my little goblin heart very happy.
My beautiful girl and I enjoying the sun and some quiet reading (can you believe she is almost 19?)
I‘m on track to finish this book today.
A rainbow in a rain shower. I managed 20 pages today, so that‘s something!
Feral self care today is frozen custard that I am now eating by the sea! Mum came home yesterday so we are still doing a lot for her and will for a while. The two big kids and I have taken a moments breather before going back!
Second book I have picked where the author was unknowingly neurodivergent!
Well she lasted two days out of the hospital:( poor mum can not catch a break
Our day out was altered today because there were people already playing pool at our local pub. So we went on a LONG drive to get what‘s reputed to be Adelaide‘s best chips. And they were. Reminds me of the chips I got as a kid in the 80s. We also came home with sensory toys from the shop next door. This is self care! Maybe not much of the feral side but….
First wooly bears of the season…our hollyhocks are covered in them.
And mum is home. Going through her discharge papers is rather scary though.
In typical fashion for my family…when one thing goes wrong, everything follows suit. My mums currently in hospital so we are making a lot of trips back and forth to her house to feed and look after her pets, and back and forward to the hospital. While my daughter is cleaning up and feeding the babies I‘m getting some rare reading time in.
This little guy has been living in my yard. We can‘t get close enough yet to see if he is microchipped, but he is very scared and looks feral. We are not sure what to do and have contacted a local rescue to see if they can help. Ideally we want help to tame him and then to try and introduce him here (if he is indeed unowned). For now we are calling him The Bard and making sure his belly is full and he is as safe as possible.
Healthy book snacks today! Still sick.s till canceling all plans. But think we are on the brighter side.
It‘s July. Mid winter for those of us down here. And yet here we have sunflowers blooming in the garden. The seasons sure are odd lately!
