The story itself was good, but the audiobook was horrible. It repeated a lot of parts throughout the book, but the ending was the worst. If it hadn't been for the audio, the book would have been pretty good. It was a nice, simple, cozy mystery. I love how the holiday theme was brought into the story. I think the rest of the series will be fun as well.
Picked for #SeasonalCozies because it was highly rated. Turns out a great majority of the 5 star reviews come from author's Cozy Krew Goodreads Group.
Audiobook is dreadful. Obviously wasn't edited. Narrator continually repeats sentences. At the end, there's a spot that sounds like a stuck record. She repeats a sentence over and over and over. ⬇️
I definitely didn‘t enjoy this like I do her Campers & Criminals series. This is book 1 of this series. Perhaps this is like Ellery Adams‘ Book Retreat series. I didn‘t like book 1 but really enjoyed book 2. Book 2 in this series is a Mother‘s Day mystery so maybe I‘ll give it a shot in May.
I did clear this off my ebook shelf so that‘s a positive.

I had to read this because…you know…St. Paddy‘s day is coming. I didn‘t enjoy this as much as books from the author‘s other series, because I was so frustrated with either the naivety or stupidity of the main character. How could she not see how she was being played…all the way around. Sheesh! On the other hand, she did discover the murderer and I like holidays so I may try another to see if it was a fluke.

“And my daughter.”
Well… I hope it gets better. 😂
Looking forward to reading this one in March for #SeasonalCozies. It will also take another book off my #readyourebooks TBR & is the first book in the series. #SeriesLove2024
