I went into this graphic novel knowing very little about it. I‘m a sucker for time travel, so I was sucked into this book quite quickly. The colours in the art were incredibly appealing to me as well. I loved Clowes interpretation of the future.
I hadn‘t touched a graphic novel IN OVER A YEAR so it was a real delight to get back into this style after a long break.
I've read a great many graphic novels but I finally had to concede that, with one or two exceptions, they are #NotForMe. I really *want* to like them, but I usually just...don't. Anyone else out there feel me? #JubilantJuly
This one's pretty good. I had some mixed feelings about it. The therapy was way off what any trained therapist would say. On a Clowes weirdness scale it ranks it the middle somewhere. Weirder than Wilson and Ghost World but more "normal" than say Speedball. This works for #localauthor. We have a good number of them. He lives in Oakland, also sets some of his books here.
This is the best Daniel Clowes I've read yet. In anticipation for this book's release. I read as much of him as I could, but I didn't love his work and it turned me off to the idea of reading "Patience." I picked it up at the library today and I was pleasantly surprised. Time travel, bright colors, love, and a few good ass-whoopings.
Reading another graphic novel because I'm reading too many traumatic books. #ReadingProblems
#secretsantagoespostal #wintersolsticebookexchange @Reggie @BookishMarginalia I ❤❤❤❤!!!! this package!!! ALL of the books are awesome (mostly graphic novels- awesome!) and then one book that is most like him that I will most definitely read. BookishMarginalia thanks soooo much for putting this together. I hope you get great gifts yourself! I wish I could send you and Reggie something to show my appreciation!! Here's Ozzie, being nosey 😻😻❤😊👍📚
One of the best graphic novels of the year, deservedly. Time travel and a whodunit and the trippy power of true love.
Super trippy graphic novel about time travel and saving the person you love. Time travel is always a tricky subject and it's rarely done well, but this story actually tied up nicely.
Bad news is that I'm sick, but good news is that I not only have these to read, but there's a 90210 marathon on too! Donna Martin graduates!
Every page will keep you guessing and in suspense. At several points, you'll think you know what's going to happen; how it all ends. You don't. I couldn't put it down.
It's timey-wimey, crimey-wimey, and a bit creepy weepy. You might find yourself dreaming about it.
Ready to dive into this. I've been reading Clowes since "Lloyd Llewelyn" in the 80s.
My favorite book Clowes has done in a long time! Gets increasingly propulsive, bizarre, and emotional with every colorful page.
