My bike, books and cannabis. I‘m not sure how that works but it works! 🤪 This book is a true gem. I am really loving how the author has planted the seeds of mutual interest between Grace and Eva. 💚 #adultsreadingyoungadult

Just 19 pages in but I‘m enjoying this babe. The Mate Lemon tea by Numi is perfect for after lunch and before training. #ireadya
Part of my gifts to my bridesmaids is a book beau! This was the last one I was waiting for...A new print preordered back in April that finally arrived today!! I love it and I hope she does too 😍
The narrative that is woven into this book is moving, funny, feels very real and gives a voice to people who have none. I find that it is almost impossible to find media that reflects my sexuality. I love that Grace is bisexual. The love story is tender but the book's focus is on Grace's relationship with her abusive mother which has nothing to do with Grace's sexuality. Blake weaves a hopeful story about growing up and learning your worth.
I picked this up at the same time I picked up "Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World" and decided to start with this one first. I have only read Chapter 1 but I already really like Blake's writing style.
[#BookReview] How To Make A Wish by Ashley Herring Blake. This heavy and dark summer romance about love, family, sexuality, loss, grief, and self worth is one I recommend to everyone. The bisexuality representation struck a chord with me. It can be a bit of a heartbreaking story, so I recommend reading with tissues. 📚💗💙💜🏳️🌈

Friendly reminder that AHB writes incredible queer girls for YA and MG contemporary, her books are diverse and feminist AF, and she is an absolute delight. 💕 #weneeddiversebooks #queerbooks #lgbtqia
I read 16 books in September and really loved most of them. I finally marked some books like Always and Forever, Lara Jean and How To Make A Wish off the list. And I finished a lot of ARCs. Here's my full monthly wrap up #septemberwrapup #readingwrapup

I'm not doing it because of the #giveaway, I'm posting this because you are a wonderful person. So, make a wish and give my daughter a second to light the candles.

Take my money, and give me a sequel please?
Grace, the MC, is bisexual and living with an abusive mother.
Eva, the love interest, is biracial, a lesbian, and her mom just passed away.
It's a beautiful story about finding the strength to say 'no more' and live your life 🏳️🌈

This book was perfect. I love every single thing about it: the beautiful and adorable wlw romance, the story of families and mothers and daughters and being an adult before you're ready, the characters, all of whom were realistic and multifaceted, and the writing which conveyed it all perfectly. If you have any interest in this book, I highly recommend picking it up! 💙
My library's YA Pride Month display was all cisgendered gay boys, so I helped them out a bit. There's lots more to the acronym that just G. Good job, but you can do better, BPL. 🏳️🌈❤️💛💚💙💜💖
Excellent rep for psychological abuse (familial). Beautiful romance between two girls. Established sexuality/no coming out. Soft boy best friend.

"Here's the thing about wishes: they're always changing on you."
I can hardly put into words how much I loved this book. There are so many reasons. It's a real look at grief. The love interest is biracial and discusses it in the book. The main character is bi and discusses it in the book. There is a conversation about consent. There is a male best friend who loves the MC unconditionally. I fell so in love with this book.

I have been WAITING SO VERY IMPATIENTLY to get into this book! I don't know why I waited so long??? Now I'm set for the weekend. 😍😍

#TBRTuesday - I'm reading all of these now, so this isn't a TBR stack quite as much as a #currentlyreading stack. This is also why I can't make a TBR list - I always have too much going on at once already without thinking ahead 😂
Hope to get at least these read plus a couple more!
Another one to stack. My review is a little focused on (& negative about) the neglectful mother trope. Maybe I make too much of it. To balance that, I am impressed by positive bi-sexuality representation. https://trishtalkstexts.wordpress.com/2017/05/01/review-how-to-make-a-wish-by-as... #ohwell #balance #lgbtqia #weneeddiversebooks #review #netgalley #blogging
5⭐️
This book follows Grace through her woes with a neglectful mother, a deceased father, aspirations of becoming a famous pianist, and coming to terms with her first love: a biracial ballet dancer named Eva.
As a bi woman myself, the bi representation in this book was INCREDIBLE. I was floored by how authentic and true it felt. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good YA and/or LGBTQ+ read!

"I thought that was how every girl saw other girls - this mix between beauty and awe and curiosity, a thin layer of lust just underneath. Took until I was fourteen to realize that no, the way I thought about other girls was a little different."
I feel you, Grace. ❤️?

It's time for a YA book. Starting this one tonight.
