[The Folio Jane Austen] | Jane Austen, Robert William Chapman, Joan Hassall

Found this mismatched set of Folio Society Jane Austen in a junk store. I told Shopkeeper that I collected Jane Austen and it's missing Sense and Sensibility. Since it was one of those places that uses old books a decoration I asked if they had put it somewhere else. "Sorry No. Did you see the other set?" Leads me to set of Mark Twain. ?‍♀️

The Jane Austen Companion to Life | Sourcebooks Inc

I‘ve been quite remiss with this challenge. #Multitasking to catch up a bit. The #2ndhandJane movie #memorabilia book depicts #whoseyourDarcy, Laurence Olivier (with Greer Garson, in a presumably #dreamcometrue moment.) One little book advises #whatwouldJanedo, one discusses #travelswithJane, and the tiniest is the #mostunusual in my library. #austeninaugust (I actually find Colin Firth a more attractive Mr. Darcy, but I ❤️ the old MGM movie.)

Pride and Prejudice | Jane Austen

My earliest memories of my grandmother are of her reading me books I was too young for: Anne of Green Gables at 4. Gone With the Wind at 6. And so on. I didn't see her a lot as I got older - her relationship with my mom was tumultuous- but I knew I got the best of her. And when I was away at college and she passed, my mom saved two things of hers for me: Gone With the Wind and this lovely Pride and Prejudice. #2ndhandjane #austeninaugust
