I want to buy all the things in The British Library Shop. Look at these gorgeous editions! 😍😍😍
I went through a lot of e-book to find some “discontent” & had to resort to my old standby, Pride and Prejudice. Judging from the number of times Mrs. Bennet‘s nerves acted up, she was frequently discontent! 😉🤣
I borrowed Alice Pattullo‘s illustration from my beloved Rockport Classics Reimagined edition. 💙

“Every object in the next day‘s journey was NEW and interesting to Elizabeth; and her spirits were in a state of enjoyment...”
This quote makes me want to take a vacation and experience someplace new. 💙I‘m going to try to keep up with the quote challenge this month—hopefully much better than last month‘s attempt. 😉
Starting my annual Austen re-read~
Happy New Year!
2019 marked my fourth time reading this and I still love it. Probably my favourite Austen. You just gotta love her writing, her irony, the way she mocks her own characters and criticises social conventions of her time. Elizabeth is an amazing protagonist, funny, intelligent but far from perfect. Seeing her and Mr Darcy fall in love despite their pride and prejudices is funny, cute and kinda romantic. Will reread again in 2020 😁.
Ok, I blogged about it and now I‘m going to be done with my month-long P&P festivities.
Unless you have really excellent recommendations for Austenesque books I should read? If so, please share!
I have been MIA lately. Just not feeling quite myself. But these lovely bookmarks from @Faibka really cheered me up!
She actually sent them a few weeks ago and I am just now coming out of my fog to look at them. Thanks for the sweet gesture Fabi! 😘
You guys! I just finished watching the P&P movie (I love MacFadyen with the fire of a thousand suns), after 24 days and 4 trips through the P&P miniseries (Firth is no slouch!)... I was remarking on how much I enjoyed Drunk Austen‘s #25Days of Pride & Prejudice, and went to check the last blog.
And OMG I won the giant giveaway for Jane‘s birthday! I almost never win stuff, so I‘m freaking out. 😂🥳💕
I definitely love Classic books! They've got good selections of classic books here: https://www.booktopia.com.au/books-online/fiction-books/classic-fiction/collins-...
I haven't watched Marriage Story but I've seen enough memes to make it feel like I have! And this one has ended me 🤣🤣
The best bookish gift I‘ve received was from @MallenNC ... she took a trip to Montreal and brought me back a copy of my favorite book in French! I can‘t read or speak French (I do want to learn!) but I love it!
Happy Jane‘s birthday to all of us!
I‘m celebrating with episode 4 of the miniseries (for the third time this month) because it‘s #25DaysOfPrideAndPrejudice with drunkausten.com and I‘m seeing new things every time around.
This time... is it just me or does Colin Firth have an extremely nice neck? 🔥😍😂
Cynthia, what a sweet surprise! It was no problem to pick it up, and I‘m happy to help! But I will enjoy my gift very much. 😊 Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
PS Very cool stamp and return address label!
Is anyone else joining in for Drunk Austen‘s #25days of Pride and Prejudice? We are binging the 1995 miniseries this year, 1 episode per day. So of course that‘s 4 trips through the series, and on day 25 our hostesses are throwing down and watching all 6. I‘m thinking I will watch the 2005 movie on Christmas instead because I FREAKING LOVE IT.
Anyway, today was day 4, aka wet Darcy day. 😍
See drunkausten.com for even more A+ content. 🙌🏻
It‘s been ages since I‘ve joined in @TK-421 ‘s quote challenge & I‘ve missed it. Hoping I can keep up in Dec.💙
“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”

Hey @CrowCAH , did you see that Zondervan is coming out with limited edition books with these laser cut covers? Thought you might want to put this on your Christmas list. 😉 https://www.tnzfiction.com/seasons-edition-fine-books/?utm_source=tnzemail&utm_m...
In case you need an excuse to binge-watch P&P (I know I certainly don‘t), Drunk Austen is here for you!
I will mix it up... I will watch the miniseries a few times, but of course I‘m going to watch my favorite movie with my favorite Darcy because MacFadyen 😍.
Picked up this beauty today to add to my out of control Jane Austen collection.
I can't believe I've waited so long to "read" Pride and Prejudice! I just finished listening to it through Chirp and it was amazing. It's witty and engaging and had me swooning by the end. Definitely a must read! ❤
MY COPY ARRIVED!!!
I got the 9,531 of 10,000! 😍
It‘s a lasercut cover, with the hardback being the teal green color.
Who else ordered one, what number copy did you receive?!
I couldn‘t help but love Mr. Bennet! His letter to Collins at the end is just priceless - a polite 🖕🏾. I thought his character witty and admirably tolerant, despite Lizzy‘s criticism as warranted as it may have been. As for Collins, Austen couldn‘t have painted a better portrait of an ass! 😆 Mrs. B added much fun color.
I think it was Emma I read long ago and disliked as a twit, but who knows because obviously my memory can‘t be trusted!
"A fine, exclusive edition of one of literature's most beloved stories. Featuring a laser-cut jacket on a textured book with foil stamping, all titles in this series will be first editions. Only 10,000 copies will ever be printed, and each will be individually numbered from 1 to 10,000."
