My reading plans are:
This week's reading in "The Children's Book" for #children
This week's reading in "Grapes of Wrath"

After that I'll see what I do.

#8inTwo

Leniverse 8 in two? As in... Eight whole books in two days!? Or just bits and pieces of 8 different things/genres? 6y
AnneCecilie @Leniverse if I have understood it correctly, it's reading for 8 hours over 2 days. 6y
Leniverse Oh, ok. 😅 You never know with people in here. I thought maybe it was the crazy sequel to the #4in48Readathon 😂 6y

BookNerd9906 @Leniverse 🤣🤣🤣 I thought the same thing at first! 6y
AnneCecilie @Leniverse @BookNerd9906 😂😂😂I didn't even participate in that one, I could never read 4 books over a weekend. No this is the sequel to the #25inFive that took place earlier this year. This one is much more doable 😀 6y
RealLifeReading @Leniverse exactly what I was wondering! 6y
bedandabook Is there a readalong of The Grapes of Wrath going on? I‘ve been meaning to read it for ages. 6y
AnneCecilie @bedandabook yes, it's organized by @Tove_Reads. We're into our third week now and will discuss chapters 20 to 26 on Monday. Not to late to join in.. 6y
bedandabook Ooh, thank you! I haven‘t been on Litsy as assiduously as usual, so had missed that. I‘ve just finished Middlemarch so keen to start another classic. 6y

I finished only three in my #4in48Readathon. I think my audiobook ran over midnight but I‘m counting it anyway😂. All three books were great. Highly recommend all.

Anna40 I read an article about Rachel Kushner's book. Did you like it? Is it mainly about the main character being in prison? 7y
BeansPage You did great!🎉 7y
Samplergal @Anna40 it is about a character in prison. There were times I felt she may have “capitalized “ on Orange is the New Black. And characters were quirky as in That book/show. It‘s a statement, imho, about economics and class and poor choices. I liked it. 7y
Samplergal @Syndelle777 Going to find all my short TBR next time! 😉. When is the next one? 7y
Anna40 @Samplergal ok! Thanks! Sounds interesting! 7y

I'm happy I managed 2.5 books, out of the #4in48Readathon. This means 2 books off #MountTBR and two books closer to my personal goal of reading at least 12 physical copies off my shelves.

I like-hate this book. I want to slap both protagonists with the book for their stupid behaviour. Hoping for a plot twist here. They try to proof nearly every cliché there is about Essex girls. 🙈🙈🙈

“If you don't sail high, with the risk of crashing and burning, do you really live? Can you love? I doubt it. I'm ready to fly.”

Book-addict Sam attends journalism school, thanks to mysterious benefactor “Mr. Knightley,” which allows her to meet new people, confront her past, and finally engage life by herself, not through characters. It‘s an epistolary delight, a reread I enjoyed. Now, I want to read all the classics.

Book 3 ✔️ #4in48Readathon

Bronte_Chintz Seen so many reviews regarding this book that tip one way or the other, I have finally stacked it! 👌🏻 7y
Cinfhen Great review 💚 7y

Wigs on the Green | Nancy Mitford

Pickpick

I love Mitford's witty, satirical writing. On the other hand, she included a lot of political and socioeconomic subtext that I could only take so much of... This book has me itching to learn more about her sisters, 2 of which the characters in this book are (quite controversially) based on!

In other news, I hit a wall this afternoon (as did Chunk, pictured 🐱) and could read no further, but still managed to finish 3 books #4in48readathon 😅

Dragon I suggest this book on the Mitford sisters 7y
Leftcoastzen I love Jessica . Even though this book is very old, 1963 then revised,it was very bold to peel back the complexity of the US funeral industry. (edited) 7y
Sophoclessweetheart Oh! I love Nancy Mitford and this book is one of my favourites. Her sister Deborah Mitford lives at Chatsworth House bear my home (she‘s the mother of the Duke of Devonshire that lives there too) and Chatsworth boasts a museum with lots of information on Nancy and her books and life because of her.💛💛💛 (edited) 7y

“Books are not about passing the time. They‘re about other lives. Other worlds. Far from wanting time to pass, one just wishes one had more of it.”

This quote from my 4th book in the #4in48readathon sums up the weekend perfectly! I had such a blast picking my books, and getting lost in the stories of these authors was the perfect way to unwind after a stressful month. I feel rejuvenated 😃

Thank you @Syndelle777 for doing this!!

Last Breath | Karin Slaughter

Pickpick

And that‘s a wrap for #4in48readathon I read 4 books in 2 days. Two were short, two were normalish length (about 300 pages). Every single one was good. I haven‘t read Karin Slaughter since the Grant County series because she made me mad. But this was good stuff and I‘ll be reading more. One of the most manipulative characters I‘ve ever read, I wonder if she‘ll come back to haunt Charlie. @Syndelle777

So I started my 3rd book for #4in48Readathon.

However, I‘m already bugged. I‘ve never been to Minnesota, but you need a car in Boston, but not Minnesota.... I feel like you don‘t need a car in Boston. It‘s a lot smaller than MN...

I‘ve never read an entire story in epistolary format. Well this works.. and very well.
This novel is a fascinating portrayal of the German occupation of Guernsey, along with lovely and unforgettable characters. An extraordinary story that will tug at your heart strings.
This book is a pure gem and will forever be an all-time favorite!
