The Love of My Life | Rosie Walsh
post image
Pickpick

A wonderfully written mystery about love and trauma and grief and pain and love. Not a murderry type of mystery, but one that weaves through mental health, impossible choices, and most of all love. Not the mushy rom-com love, but the love of a mother and the bond between a husband and wife who both have tragic pasts. Book #87 in 2023

I really enjoyed this one, about what the black people went through with the KKK and the lynching.
My last book of 2022

Got a 3 pack of Archie comics in my stocking so with the enthusiasm afforded them in my youth I read them immediately. #87-2022, #88-2022, #89-2022

Finished Uprooted by Naomi Novik. What a storyteller she is! This audiobook was pretty long. There were lots of battles and lots of magic! I could see it playing out in my head. I love when that happens. #87 #BookSpin #AlmostAChunksterChallenge #BFC22 #2022AUTHORAMONTH

Book #4 for the #MermaidMarathonReads Readathon! What an interesting twist on the original. We get to meet the Princess that the Prince was to marry and learn how she felt and how she was involved in the story (at least this author‘s idea of the story). I loved the hopeful ending just as much as The Little Mermaid, maybe more. #100YEARS100BOOKS #87 #BookSpinBingo #10 #BFC21 #1 #TAILSandTALESforADULTS #14 #FAIRYTALECHALLENGE #ThankfulAthon

Hockey night. I'm at 50% on this ARC. It's interesting but has a lot of shades of Potter's universe. It's making me twitch.
Happy Friday.

2020 #87 I kept hoping to like this book. I never did. I never got invested in the characters. I just couldn‘t feel an attachment to any of them. I finished it because I kept thinking “This is gonna get better.” In the last chapter there‘s a line that says “That‘s it? That‘s it???” And I thought... that‘s it? Yep. That‘s it. Just not gonna get any better.
