This may be my favorite book of the year.

Beautifully written historical fiction about friendship, music, fame, and so much more. Wonderful characters, amazing sense of places (across Brazil and LA), and strong emotions throughout.

I‘m afraid I‘ll be feeling a book hangover. But it was so very worth it. I‘m going to need to own a copy of this, and also pick up her other book, The Seamstress.

I can‘t write a review for this yet, I‘m too raw and broken open. All I can say is it‘s beautiful and an amazing book, but don‘t go near it if you have any triggers. One of the most difficult books I‘ve ever read, but I‘m glad I did.

Next good nights stories: a tome i've seen lie around in every hostel all over the world. Some travelers told me they loved it, some that they hated it. I guess it'll take me another 43 hours to decide for myself....

Dogearedcopy I adore this book! I fell in love with Humphrey Bower's voice and Lin and felt #allthefeelings! I did NOT want this to end! 44+ hours is not enough! (And yes, I have the sequel... But in print. I'm holding out a little longer to see if the author relents and grants audio rights to a publisher)
