Further tiny bookshelf progress (now with personal touches like polished rocks from my childhood) while I listened my way to 66% of SHADOWS & DREAMS. I liked the first book in the series a couple years back, but somehow my memory of it didn‘t prepare me for the ABSOLUTE DELIGHT this second one serves up. So much hard boiled paranormal investigation! So many jokes! So many digs at Twilight! #audiocrafting #showandtelltuesday

I listened to more than half of HEAVENLY TYRANT while I built the structure for a new miniature (a garden loft!) and made most of the stuff for its all-important bookcase. Even at 3x, that was kind of an obscene amount of miniature assembly. Gonna call it quits for the day.

The book is definitely a departure from IRON WIDOW, but it‘s a logical one. I‘m interested to see where the story ends up. #audiocrafting

The kind of book Elinor Dashwood might have written about life as a governess. Charlotte wrote a prettier line. Emily wrote a better narrative. Even so, I think Anne would have been a better friend.

Highly recommend the audiobook— the narration of the penguin classic version is excellent! It does a great job of capturing how awful the supposed “quality” can be but without any ire.

I hit 26% with REAPER‘S GALE while I assembled a tiny train that‘ll fit into a book nook. I found the last book kind of tedious, so I‘m glad this one returns to the characters and settings from my favourite volume. (The place sounds like Letheri, but I probably spelled it wrong. The enduring issue with audio.) Still, I won‘t emerge from this series a Malazan superfan. I like it enough to continue but not enough to rave about it all. #audiocrafting

I like Sutton and I appreciated her story a lot; it was very heartfelt. However, I thought there would have been a bit more crafting in the book, and I wish there were photos of her career AND her crafts. There was some timeline shuffling in the chapters so I got a little confused a few times. Low pick for me.
I kept switching from hardcover to #audiocrafting. Now I‘m getting ready to crochet a #bookcover #grannysquare for my #readingblanket

I pressed the hell out of my jacket today, then paused to finish this miniature tea shop. That took me to 29% with WIND AND TRUTH, which I‘m loving. It‘s common for epic fantasy to have a POV or two that the reader just doesn‘t care about, but I‘m interested and invested in all these people and have been all along. I‘m excited to keep listening tomorrow. #audiocrafting

Oh, hey, I forgot to tell y‘all how much I loved MOST ARDENTLY! It dove straight into my heart and tugged, tugged, tugged. It‘s also the second Remixed Classic I‘ve adored, after INTO THE BRIGHT OPEN by Cherie Dimaline, so clearly I need to seek out more of them.

I finished it while I started this book nook. I‘m now fairly far into it, thanks to stints with a couple other audiobooks. #audiocrafting #AuldLangSpine2025

I‘m gonna be sad when I catch up on the Veronica Speedwell mysteries. They‘ve brought me a lot of joy this year, even given the library bottleneck that left me with a months-long hiatus between the 5th & 6th books.

I finished this book nook during yesterday‘s listening session! It, too, brings me great joy. I‘m so glad Michael‘s started stocking them, and including them in their couponable items, so I could nab it on Boxing Day. #audiocrafting

Holiday happies ... @Cuilin, the ornament is gorgeous. Another talent you have. I can't even draw a stick figure correctly. I will cherish it always. And @julieclair, did you diamond paint this fabulous bookmark? It's beautiful, and I'm currently using it for STILL LIFE. Finally, @kspenmoll, what an adorable wooden bookmark with no truer sentiment.
