I realised about 3/4 of the way through that I should have been listening to the track that matched the chapter title at the end of each chapter. I was quite familiar with most of the music, but once I started doing that it really enhanced my reading experience.
I enjoyed this quite a lot. I knew basic biographical details but I enjoyed what was quite a close reading of the text and Leslie‘s attempt not to demonise Paul.
so-soThe negative side to me would probably use words like, saccharine, cloying and naive to describe this book but by the end my heart went out to her. She tried so hard to keep her grasp on John no matter how sad or lonely it made her. This book is sentimental and kind and devoid of any bitterness. What a class act. I love John Lennon but I really hope Cynthia earned some good money on this book and I hope John read it and I hope it bothered him lol

But, who in their right mind, decided to give away a four-volume box set of illustrated books about the Beatles' solo careers? 🤷🏻♂️
Whoever it was, I thank them for their incomprehensible decision, as I now own it! 🤓
bailedI tried and got to page 63 but it was dragging so slow that I couldn't finish it.
