4.6⭐️ This was an amazing story with great characters and a strong FMC. The world building is good but I wouldn‘t have minded a little more detail. Speaking of extra detail, would have loved to have a little bit more information and interaction with the villain. All in all, thoroughly enjoyed. This was also my #BooksSpin for August #BookSpinBingo.

3.9⭐️ for this super cute paranormal cozy mystery. I will be completely honest, I went in knowing a few of the details, because I accidentally started the spin off series. So it ruins a little bit of a love triangle that‘s slightly present. However, I thoroughly enjoy the book and plan to continue the series. This is also my #BooksSpin for #BookSpinBingo.

I don't really read much fiction/lit but I picked this one up for the #Booked2022 prompt above. I loved this book!

Ava and her sister Joyce and Ava's boyfriend Eddie was an amazing cast of characters.
I found myself rooting for them despite of their circumstances. This book was a quick read but will definitely stick with me.

Also, this was my #BooksSpin for May.

Pickpick

As the second book in the Lady Janies series, My Plain Jane lacks the spark of ridiculousness that was present in My Lady Jane. Perhaps spoofing/retelling Jane Eyre lends itself to a more rigid set of events, where book one was free to pilfer from various historical interpretation and loosely kept records.

Here we meet Jane Eyre, who is being courted by the Society for the Relocation of Wayward Spirits, keeping this one in line with the⬇️

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick supernatural plotlines. It was funny and a few times I cackled pretty hard, but the middle of this book felt a little slow and droll to me. Some jokes benefit those of us who read Jane Eyre, but maybe this would have felt fresher if I didn't just read Bronte's source material. It's fun and modern, with the same sort of snarkiness & contemporary social commentary that made book one so enjoyable, it's just turned down⬇️ 3y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick a couple of notches here.
Still catching up on April...The is my April #BooksSpin selection #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks and a title for #YApril @Allylu

Allylu YAy! 3y
Traci1 I read this one first, and while I liked it, I'm with you. Lady Jane was more fun. 3y
TheAromaofBooks I still haven't gotten to Lady Jane!! One of these days!! 3y

Finally finished my March #BooksSpin and unpopular opinion time, but this book was a total cringe fest for me. Some very important issues to explore here but I found the writing unbearably pretentious and clunky, the one-sided conversation conceit gimmicky and annoying, and the attitude toward women smarmy and shallow. Poor, broken (Am)Erica hung up on her lost love Chris(tianity) was simply more than I could take. I hoped the ‘twist‘⤵️

KVanRead ...I‘d heard about would redeem this somehow. It did not. 3y
Ruthiella I didn‘t like this book much either. I‘ve also read How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia and Exit West as well and just found them OK. 3y
KVanRead @Ruthiella Good to know. I‘ve heard good things about those but at the moment I‘m feeling like his writing style is not for me. 3y

Leftcoastzen On my TBR , now I‘m wondering.. 3y
BarbaraBB That‘s a bummer. I loved it. How he describes how it must have been for Muslims after 9/11. But that may be because it was the first book I read on the subject 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3y
KVanRead @rubyslippersreads Apollo on the other hand enjoyed sinking his teeth into it😺 3y
KVanRead @Leftcoastzen Most people seem to really love it, judging from the reviews, just wasn‘t for me. 3y
KVanRead @BarbaraBB I actually liked that aspect of it and wished he‘d spent more time exploring that more deeply. 3y
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!!! 3y
britt_brooke On point review! I just finished this today. 3y
KVanRead Thanks. Wish it had been otherwise, but that‘s just the way it goes🤷🏻‍♀️ 3y

So I have my #BookSpinBingo card for February ready.

I‘ve already started on my #BooksSpin book and my #DoubleSpin book is one I‘ve wanted to read for years.

Can‘t wait to start the reading

This was the first month since participating in #BookSpinBingo that I finished neither #BooksSpin nor #DoubleSpin. I did, however still read 10 books, so it could be worse...
