I enjoyed this cozy mystery featuring Molly the Maid. It was fun and charming with great characters. I liked all the twists and turns, though I have to admit that some of the surprises revealed at the end made the story a bit implausible.

I chose this book for the “published in 2022“ prompt of #CloakAndDaggerChristmas, though I didn't quite finish by Dec. 25.. @Ruthiella

This is a low pick for me. It's not an especially strong mystery but it's definitely a fun read for the Christmas season.

I loved this second book in the Aggie Morton series, a middle-grade series inspired by Agatha Christie's characters. It's a classic country-house mystery set during the Christmas holidays, with the brave and clever young detectives outsmarting the criminals.

I adore the cover art too -- that poor snowman! 😂

This was a great choice for #LitsySciFiBookClub. I've read a lot of Scalzi's books and this would rank among my favourites. I love the aggressively rude dolphins and I crack up every time I look at this cover image!

I love making dumplings and thought I'd try a new recipe from this graphic novel which offers, not just recipes, but interesting information about the history of dumplings and variations in different Asian cuisines.

This recipe turned out to be very tasty, though I used Shanghai bok choy instead of kale, as I had that on hand.

This is the first volume of a manga series about an older man, recently bereaved, who adopts a cat that no one else seems to want. The story is totally charming and Fukumaru the cat is adorable!

A pot dealer with an unambitious boyfriend ends up on a reality show, trying to earn a spot on a one-way expedition to Mars.

The story is both a lighthearted rom-com and a dark, biting satire, with some interesting science and sci-fi mixed in. There were parts that dragged, interspersed with moments of brilliance.

This is not an anthology of asexual fairy tales or even fairy tales reimagined with asexual people.

If I'm being kind, it could be more aro than ace but I'm not being kind because this book is offensive.

Most of the stories were about people avoiding unwanted marriage or avoiding or escaping sexual assault.
