Since I will be home for at least the next 2 weeks here is my #coronastack and #24in48 tbr. Some books are in progress and others are for challenges. As usual it's an overly ambitious pile as I've been finding it difficult to focus and read but here's to hoping!

This is my #CoronaStack 😷 @Cinfhen I‘m worried about my dad going to work today. Some of his office (but not him) preforms essential services, so they‘ve decided everyone should go in. 🙄🙄 I don‘t think his work is taking stuff seriously. I don‘t think my parents are taking this seriously. Idk what to do. 🤦🏻‍♀️

blank My parents and sister aren't taking it seriously, either. You better believe Imma be saying "I told you so" when they get sick. 4y
Cinfhen My parents also seem VERY CLUELESS 🤬🤬🤬and I‘m what‘s wrong with u guys!!! You watch the news 24/7 YOU KNOW what‘s going on!!!!!! 4y
Cinfhen Lots of good reads in the days ahead!!!!! 4y

Hooked_on_books I‘ve looked at reading pillows like that one and thought about getting one. How well does it work? Does it work for chunksters? 4y
Megabooks @laurenslibrary I really hope my parents don‘t get sick. My mom is especially high risk due to her diminished lung capacity because of scoliosis. But no, she‘s like Meg, try on those pants, we‘ve got to take them back if they don‘t work. Me, uh, why would we go to the mall?? Dad wants to get Texas Roadhouse tonight. Me, wtf?!? 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen right?!? Problem is, my dad watches Fox News aka President Trump‘s propaganda wing. 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen yes, I‘m going to try to finish disappearing earth this morning then idk where the winds will take me! I‘m listening to this on scribd. 4y
Megabooks @Hooked_on_books I love it! I could not hold up hardcovers, especially large ones, without it, so yes, it works with chunksters! Two of the three sides have pretty deep edges at different angles. It‘s been really helpful when my arms are tired/painful. It‘s also great for iPads and kindles. This is a Flippy. I got it on Qvc.com, but amazon has it and I even saw a cheaper one without the Flippy logo on Walmart.com (after I bought this, of course!) 4y
Lcsmcat My 84 year old mother went out to dinner because she feels sorry for hourly workers who won‘t get paid if people don‘t eat out. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I threatened to lock her in her house. 4y
Megabooks @Lcsmcat my dad wants to go to Texas Roadhouse to support a fundraiser tonight!!! So frustrating!!! I‘m seriously going to tie him to his recliner! 🤬 4y
TheAromaofBooks My grandparents have been pretty casual about everything as well. I think at some level the older folks are thinking about all the other disease scares they've lived through and shrugging this one off as more of the same. Kind of a boy-who-called-wolf scenario. Ohio did decide to close all dine-in restaurants/bars, so they were forced to forego their usual Sunday morning breakfast out! 4y
TheBookDream My folks are taking it pretty seriously, but unfortunately we‘re a multi-generation household so more people to bring in germs and no room to isolate individuals 😞 4y
AprilMae It took a collective pointed conversation from me and all of my siblings to convince my mom (who is in her late 60s with preexisting conditions!!!)to stay home from work. And my father (70s and preexisting conditions!!!)to cancel their upcoming trip to Texas. I had to HYSTERICALLY CRY Y'ALL. I'm not a cryer....ugh 4y
sudi Me and mother are taking this pretty seriously. I get scared everytime i see the death toll in Italy. But there are many people who dismissing this as just another scare, unfortunately there are also people who have jobs that require them to work despite the conditions we're in, honestly i feel bad for them and the doctors and nurses putting themselves at risk. 4y
katy4peas I‘m a bit worried about my grandparents (80s). One set is taking it seriously and the other set believes it is a hoax. They are lucky they are in a small town as that limits there outside contacts with people, but I‘m sure they are still out and about when they shouldn‘t be. Especially my grandpa who has bladder cancer and other health issues. 😬 Those drs and nurses who are exposed and still helping are amazing and brave! 4y
JacqMac My dad is in his 70s. His lungs are in terrible shape. I‘m having the hardest time convincing him that he needs to stay home. I live too far away to just run over there and duct tape him to a chair. It‘s pretty frustrating. 4y
Meaw_catlady Sending prayers to the universe for your dad today! Hopefully his work starts taking this seriously! 4y
mrp27 Seriously disappointing people are not taking things seriously. I have two very susceptible people in my family, my mom and my brother. We put my mom on lockdown a week ago which luckily she has been agreeable too, and my brother is very cautious, only going to work. We take this very seriously. 4y
Megabooks @TheAromaofBooks Kentucky is closing the dine-in as of 5 PM. I think there is some of that “we‘ve lived through worse” mentality. Also I think the disjointed response of government isn‘t helping. 4y
Megabooks @TheBookDream oh that‘s difficult. I hope no one in your family gets sick. 🤞🏻💙💙 4y
Megabooks @AprilMae my friend that sent me the article pulled out the ugly cry! That‘s a potent weapon! 4y
Megabooks @sudi I feel so scared that what‘s happening in Italy will happen other places. Idk what to do to get people to stay home here. 4y
Megabooks @katy4peas I‘m so sorry about your grandfather‘s bladder cancer! I hope he‘s able to stay home. Healthcare workers are amazing! 4y
Megabooks @JacqMac it is. I don‘t want my parents to get sick. 4y
Megabooks @Meaw_catlady thank you so much!! 4y
Megabooks @mrp27 yes!! I‘m so glad more cities are closing restaurants and nightclubs, etc. I wish companies would pay people to stay home. 4y
sudi @Megabooks i feel like at this point, it's inevitable. The problem is that most countries who are in Phase 1 are not taking strict actions. If those countries who are in Phase 1 could look at Italy, China and Korea and take similar actions they will be able to prevent the spreading. But unfortunately we as people can do only so much, it also falls on the government that they be alert and take the necessary precautions before time. 4y
sudi @Megabooks most of the cases we had here in Mumbai have been from foreign travellers. But the government hasn't tested the general public yet, which could result in an increase in positive cases. And we are still a developing country so that's even more risky. I mean it's been a week and the stores are still out of sanitizer 😷 4y
Megabooks @sudi I know it must be so much harder being in a developing country. We are not testing widely here in Kentucky either. I feel we need to start clearing the backlog and testing anyone symptomatic whether they have traveled or not. My thoughts are with you and your family! 💕💕 4y
sudi @Megabooks agree 100%. Testing is so vital and it's not being done at the level that it should be. Same to you, stay safe and hope your parents heed your advice. 💕 4y
nanuska_153 @Megabooks Here in Ireland the government wasn't doing much until the first case that wasn't related to travel to affected areas/being in contact to someone who travelled and the first death happened. All of the sudden everything is happening so quickly!Friday the schools closed, Saturday pubs and restaurants, Sunday they text you to stay home on Monday. Feel like soon is going to be like in Spain and the police will fine anyone on the street! 4y

My #CoronaStack 😷Looks ambitious but my brain is feeling finicky 😉plus I have 3 audiobooks I‘m listening to 🎧 #MondayIsTheNewSunday

Simona My Monday is the new Sunday too. Actually, my whole week is going to be like Sunday ... a little bit selfish, but I‘m quite pleased with that🤗 4y
Cinfhen You deserve it @Simona xx hopefully your book arrives today!!!! 4y
Kalalalatja I‘m excited to see what you think of the new Morgenstern. It is waiting for me at the PO, and I‘m working on getting a friend to pick it up for me 😄 4y

Crazeedi Looks like a perfect #mondayisthenewsunday 4y
Cinfhen I haven‘t picked it up yet @Kalalalatja maybe we can buddyread if your friend gets your copy!! 4y
Kalalalatja It looks like I might be able to pick it up myself! The Danish government is changing its strategy, so if I‘m not showing symptoms, I can go outside (while still being cautious and keeping safety distance to others). So I‘m planning to pick it up tomorrow or Wednesday, when another package for my bf arrives. So I could be up for a buddy read! 😊 4y
Cinfhen Ok @Kalalalatja let‘s wait and see xx hope you‘re feeling better ☺️ 4y

So with schools here in Louisiana closed until April 13th, toliet paper shortages, all gathering over 200 people cancelled and the general chaos of plague, I decided to go and stock up on books at the library. I'm a little frightened those will be closed next.
FYI there are actually only 2 confirmed by the CDC cases and 13 possible cases of the Caronavirus here. Also I did actually find toliet paper, thank you Walmart 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😸

Lovesbooks87 They are closing our libraries here for two weeks starting Monday! 4y
TheAromaofBooks Our libraries closed starting today!! On the upside, maybe this will help me to actually read some of my own books! 4y
Charityann The libraries here are closed for two weeks! Thankfully, I was able to checkout a bunch of books before they closed. 4y

SamAnne Spokane WA libraries closed yesterday until at least April 13. On the bright side I have time to savor Warmth of Other Suns and The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee instead of rushing through them to finish before their original due date! 4y
CocoReads Our libraries are closed. Our schools are closed and toilet paper is hard to come by. We only have 1 case in our county and I think only 10 statewide. But I haven‘t totally kept up since I‘ve had other things mostly on my mind. 4y
Lcsmcat Schools are closed here and gatherings of 100 or more banned. We‘ve had 24 confirmed cases in the state (NC) most of which are in my county. The libraries are still open the last time I checked, but no activities. I work in local government so I‘m still working, but my husband is on “work from home” until at least March 29th. It‘s getting a little too real. 4y
Kenyazero Good call stocking up on books! Our libraries just closed recently. We only have one confirmed case in our county, but we're trying hard to be proactive in preventing the spread. 4y

Hoping this will be #isolationreading come Monday, but for now...my library is still open for the foreseeable.

Let‘s see your fat #coronastack!

Meaw_catlady Magic for Liars😍😍😍😍 4y
Monyca I loved Nothing to See Here! 4y
monalyisha Update: Full-time staff is now working 3 (alternating) days a week at the library (5 people at a time) & 2 additional days from home. We have very few part-time staff (who are all *very* part-time); sadly, I don‘t think they‘ll be paid. The building is closed to the public, though we are offering pickup of local holds (titles we own) at a “delivery window” between the hours of 10 & 5 — along with a slew of online programming. Stay safe, everyone! (edited) 4y
