Loved this novella about a woman who gets in her apartment pool one morning and doesn‘t get out for the rest of the day.
I don‘t even like swimming but, in the middle of a heatwave, I wished I could do the same! 💙🩵💙

This is great. The story of the Beckett‘s marriage so far. While Kathleen is in the pool all day , we learn so much about these people. One of my favorite books this year, I think it‘s a perfect piece of writing, well done.
I‘m off to look up more by J Anthony.
I thought this was great. Kathy gets in the apartment complex pool one warm November day and refuses to come out. We then get her and her husband Virgil's versions of their courtship and marriage. My one complaint is I wish we had less of Virgil and more of Kathy. It is a fleeting character and relationships study, I can see why people would want more but I thought it was well written & well crafted. I'm going to look for more from the author.
"All around them was death, and Kathleen had never been more in love with Virgil in her life."
A reckoning of two people and a marriage in a pool. Well done!
Didn‘t hate it, didn‘t love it. I‘m confused on how to rate this short book. It takes place during the FMC day in the pool. One day. Yet it reminisces upon past years. The storytelling is unique, fascinating in an odd way, though it doesn‘t go deep. As of such, I just don‘t know how I feel about this slow around the bush way that we find out this great family is falling apart.

They told us in August that our job was going to be outsourced overseas, so I'm in the middle of looking for a new job. I'm not sure how much reading I'll be able to do this month, but I'm going to try.
