After her mother‘s death, Emily Benedict moves to the town of Mullaby to live with her giant of a grandfather she never knew she had. Life is complicated for Lydia. She's working at that tacky, third-rate museum, Shrimpton's House of Ancient Horrors, trying to salvage her career in para-archaeology - and dating the most dangerous man in town. Just when she thinks she might be getting things under control, she stumbles over a dead body and discovers that her lover has a secret past that could get him killed.

Day 15 - #glowing #octoberputaspellonyou
#OctoberPutASpellOnYou Day 15: I loved the #glowing halo of the children found in this book. As Tillman poetically exclaims, this ‘crown‘ is quite special: “It was made up of sparkling, glimmering things like moonlight and fireflies, and dragonfly wings.” I love how magic drips in Tillman‘s fingers, transforming red into gossamer butterfly wings and greens into silent, nebulous echoes of a distant forest. Remember reading this one? I think it was originally in the Sneetches volume.
