Today‘s haiku is inspired by the spotted dove cooing & singing this morning. (I borrowed this picture). Not native to Hawaii, the spotted dove was introduced from Asia in the 1800s.

In my internet travels, I came across a story of the world‘s first spotless giraffe, Kipekee, who was born in Tennessee in 2023. Kipekee means unique in Swahili.

This is Thursday‘s haiku-just a little late. I was able to run out at lunch Thursday to get my favorite poke bowl. So fresh & so good it “broke da mouth” as they say in Hawaii.

This is yesterday‘s haiku, or rather last night‘s. I stopped to watch the twilight fade into night on my way home from the airport. (Then I promptly went home & fell asleep!) I‘ve always loved the word “gloaming.” 🌅

Gone With the Wind is my favorite book and one of my favorite movies. I always loved this interaction with Scarlett and Ashley in the movie. Vivien Leigh was so gorgeous. ♥️
