Indiscretion: A Novel | Jude Morgan

August has been my worst reading month that I've had in years. A lot of things happening at once, just weird vibes all around. Anyway, I am sincerely hoping for a quiet, no-drama weekend where the husband and I can just hide at home and not take any phone calls 😂 I want to finish three books this weekend - a short one I'm halfway through, the tagged book for my #HappyReads group, and one more. We'll see how far I can get!!
#20in4 @Andrew65

wanderinglynn I empathize. I‘ve had a problems too! But slowly am getting my reading mojo back. 8mo

Okay, team #HappyReads, here are a few options for our next round. The tagged is a P&P variation that I read a long while back and know is 100% clean 😂 Indiscretion is an old favorite that I keep meaning to reread. The Shadowy Horses doesn't completely fit into our usual parameters - I haven't read this particular one, but I know Kearsley usually has a little bit of supernatural mixed into her stories. And of course, Wodehouse and Heyer - ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) I have other options of both. I will say that Joy in the Morning is definitely high on my list of favorite Wodehouses, with perhaps the best opening line of all time.

So let me know if you have any thoughts!! @mabell @Chrissyreadit @julieclair

Chrissyreadit i Have read The Shadowy Horses- Kearsley is a favorite of mine- so any of the others! 9mo
mabell I‘ve read and enjoyed the Wodehouse and Heyer, but happy to read again! Indiscretion also sounds fun! (I‘m trying to remember the opening line of Joy in the Morning now 😂) 9mo

julieclair These all sound good, and I haven‘t read any of them, but I‘m leaning towards Indiscretion. 9mo
TheAromaofBooks @Chrissyreadit @mabell @julieclair - I think I will go with Indiscretion - I've been meaning to reread it!! 9mo
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - “After the thing was all over, when peril had ceased to loom and happy endings had been distributed in heaping handfuls and we were driving home with our hats on the side of our heads, having shaken the dust of Steeple Bumpleigh from our tyres, I confessed to Jeeves that there had been moments during the recent proceedings when Bertram Wooster, though no weakling, had come very near to despair.“ 😂 9mo
mabell @TheAromaofBooks Oh that‘s classic! 😂😂 I love it 9mo
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - Something about “peril had ceased to loom“ just sends me every time haha 9mo

My #WeeklyForecast is mostly finishing my March “assignments.“ I should finish the tagged book today, my final read for the #BacklistReadathon. Next, a Kindle book (so not pictured), for #TrappedonanIsland - In the Dark (Loreth Anne White). The Last Garden in England is for my #TBRbyColor challenge on StoryGraph, and The Five-Minute Marriage is for my Happy Reads group. That's probably as far as I'll get this week, but we'll see!!
@Cinfhen

Cinfhen That‘s awesome a #HappyReads group!!! Also shelves are looking g👀d!!!! Even a little bare 😁 13mo
TheAromaofBooks @Cinfhen - Chipping away at the pile... must be almost time to add April's books 😂 13mo

I missed yesterday's #marchintoreading , so here's a catch up on #happyreads . I don't read much romance, but M.C. Beaton's regency romances always make me laugh. I especially love the Poor Relations Hotel and School of Manners series.
