It‘s been a long & crazy workweek (workweeks) & thus a while since I‘ve posted a #HaikuADay with #HaukuHive. Took a lunch break today to sit outside read & relax—the inspiration for my haiku.

Birds and voices weave
Fresh poke, warm sun, soft breeze
Peaceful reading lunch

In Search of a Sandhill Crane | Keith Robertson

This is a red-headed sandhill crane. They‘re found all over North America but the ones in Florida are considered endangered now. Jace is fascinated by them as they are everywhere at his granddad‘s farm. I told him what they‘re called a couple of years ago & he referred to them as red haired sour creams, didn‘t quite have the pronunciation down. 😆

We owe it to nature
to protect those in danger —
like the red-haired sour creams.

JenlovesJT47 @TorieStorieS how cool is that! I love seeing animals out in the wild with their mates. On Granddad‘s farm these things are everywhere. We were there last weekend and my niece and I counted about 10 gators in the pond 😳🐊 2mo

TorieStorieS Wow!! That‘s scary but cool! We have a lot of wildlife here— tons of birds (we even have bald eagles now!), deer, bunnies, coyotes, opossums, raccoons and foxes! 2mo
