About to start this gem finally. // I have a question though about NetGalley. Does anybody know an easy way to be able to move the ARCs that don't directly download onto kindle to my kindle? I heard there was a way to change the document and then download it onto the kindle anyways. Can anybody help me with that? I'm really struggling with reading them on my phone. #netgalley #arc #help

BookwormM I always send them to my kindle email address you have to add Netgalley as an approved email address first. 1mo
IvoryLunatic @bookwormm Even the ones that don‘t have a kindle download button? The protected PDFs? (edited) 1mo
EadieB @IvoryLunatic I use Amazon and go under Digital Content. Search for your book and then you can choose to send it to your iPad, iPhone, or computer or all 3. 1mo
IvoryLunatic @EadieB But isn‘t that just for the ones in kindle format? I‘m asking about the ones that are not in kindle format. Those don‘t get sent to my amazon account. 1mo

Can someone clear this up for me: is this book autobiographical, i.e telling the real life story of the author? Or is it just a satirical commentary on society or something?

#help #myyearofrestandrelaxation #ottessamoshfeg

8little_paws It's not the author's real life story. 3mo

Trying to look for this prompt has my head spinning and I feel like I'm not trying hard enough. Zombies aren't for me so Dread Nation is out, I read Kindred about 20 years ago and I'm finding lots of paranormal romance which isn't going to happen! Looking for alternate suggestions for the #POCMCParanormal prompt! #Help #InSearchOfSuggestions #LibrariansOfLitsy

Bookzombie I think this would work. I‘m probably going to go with a book by Daniel José Older. 3mo
IamIamIam @Bookzombie Thanks! I've not heard of Older yet so I can take a look at the options. 😁 3mo
Hestapleton I bet this would work! 3mo

IamIamIam @Hestapleton Ooooh, good call!!! I have those on my TBR! 3mo
LibrarianRyan While it's not really a paranormal book, he is visited by ghosts which are paranormal, so I say go for it. 3mo
IamIamIam @LibrarianRyan That's what I thought. With Kindred, I didn't think time travel is really paranormal but ghosts definitely count. 3mo
4thhouseontheleft Labyrinth Lost would definitely work! I like that book, but FYI it does have a romance component. A few others are Shadowshaper, Akata Witch, and Fledgling. 3mo
IamIamIam @4thhouseontheleft Awesome suggestions!!! Thanks so much!!! I have Labyrinth Lost on hold with Libby but I'll definitely check out the others! I think I was focusing on the POC part but not really thinking of all the colors available. 😂 Also, thanks for the heads up on romance! I can handle a relationship but not a romantic focus. 🤢 I know, very tween of me... LOL 3mo
4thhouseontheleft @IamIamIam Labryinth Lost has a love triangle component. It‘s not a huge part of the plot, but it is there. 3mo
IamIamIam @Bookzombie @Hestapleton @LibrarianRyan @4thhouseontheleft I was talking to my husband about the prompt and he asked if it was just ghosts or magic also. He suggested this too... what do you guys think? We have the audio, which is a huge bonus! 3mo
mrp27 American Gods works, I was thinking about doing that one and Long Way Down certainly works, it's a fantastic read! 3mo
IamIamIam @mrp27 Excellent!!! Thanks!! 😁👌 3mo

Does anyone know how I can add a cover to this entry for the book? It doesn't have one, and it's such a stunning cover that I hate for it to not be there. I figured out how to add a cover when I create a book, but not how to do it for an existing book like this. I'm willing to do the work; I just don't know how.

(I mean just look at that! Gorgeous!)

So... If I want to start reading Terry Pratchett: is there a good book to start? Or a series? Is there a specific order to read?

I‘m here to ask Litsy for help: I seem to be at a crossroads. My job is inadequate, I‘m looking for work but have the impending recession looming over me now, my car needs 1000‘s of dollars or repairs to be safe to drive (I‘m lucky I have a good support system, so getting to my job won‘t be a problem). I‘m starting to see depression looming again. What books made a mark on you during a crossroads in your life? #help #crossroads #recommendations

TrishB I don‘t have any specific books. But when I feel so many different things getting on top of me I try and see which I can actually solve and try and plan something for those. Just having a plan helps me. I‘m not trying to be patronising as we all approach things differently I know. Hope you start to find some answers. 4mo
Megabooks I‘ve had two years worth of issues in my life recently and read this three times 4mo
TheBookDream @Megabooks thank you, I‘ll check it out 4mo
TheBookDream @TrishB I‘ve been working on that too, but having trouble with the long term planning. Either way, it seems like leaving the weekend free of such activities has been helpful in getting perspective. Weekend for books and board games. Weekdays for life. 4mo
TrishB I try not to do anything at least one day of the weekend for the same reason! 4mo
