Having watched the show and now having just read the first book in the Will Trent series all I can say is I‘m hooked on both. Glad I gave this a shot because it‘s so good.

so-soI grabbed this because one of my library‘s summer challenge prompts was to find an ebook from one of their resources and Slaughter posted this book on Instagram recently. While I like Slaughter‘s writing style and the one novel I‘ve read so far, I found this underwhelming. I can‘t say much without spoilers (it‘s only 40 pages), but I would like those 30 minutes of my life back. Still debating between so-so and pan. It‘s close.

I didn't like it. Almost DNF.
Too predictable. I literally knew what was going to happen after listening to the first couple of pages. Because this is a prequel, I'm gonna give her another shot. I've heard great things about her.
