This one has been on my TBR for a while- and marks the 102nd #MtTBRChallenge book of 2019 for me! Plus, this is my final book for #Booked2019 - #ParanormalMCPoC - and I am so glad to already have my hands on the sequel! I really enjoyed this engaging fantasy. The world-building fascinated me and I loved the characters, too! It might be my #FavoriteDecemberRead #HollyJollyReading #WinterGames #ReadNosedReindeer

TorieStorieS @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks!! This was the first year I participated in tracking Mt. TBR! Your number is amazing, too!! Hoping for even more next year!! 🥳🥳🥳 4y
Cinfhen Wow!!!!! That‘s impressive🙌🏻 🎉I don‘t think I read more than 20 books I owned prior to the start of 2019🤪I bought and read a bunch but very few came off of my backlog 🙈 4y
TorieStorieS @Cinfhen Thanks!!! I made an effort this year- but my TBR according to Goodreads is still more books unread than read!! Maybe the tide will finally change in 2020! 🤞🤞🤞 4y

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4)

I enjoyed this novella, though it took me a while to read it. It's an extremely intriguing concept and compelling narrative. Society has certainly evolved since 1969, and some of the story's social constructs have not held up well. It felt dated in parts. I liked the references to Shakespeare, and I think the themes blended well with Helva's story. Liked it, but not yet in love with McCaffrey.

Only one more P.D. James left. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3023132411

And I have finally scaled Mt. Toro in the #MtTBRChallenge. Let‘s see if I can reach Mt. Everest this year.

It‘s been a very long time since I last picked up a book by Rollins- but this month‘s #ReadAroundTheWorld challenge country is #Oman and I was delighted to see this title on a list of books set there since I had started collecting the Sigma Force series years earlier in preparation to binge it! So this fun thriller fulfills the challenge and marks my 40th #MtTBRChallenge read! It‘s a bit far-fetched, but exciting nonetheless!

During a flurry of last minute Christmas shopping, I snuck a few items into my Amazon cart. This is my reward for meeting my #MtTBRChallenge goal. My goal was 18 books, and I read 26. These were both books I physically owned and my virtual TBR (library loans/Overdrive). Bonus, I used a gift card for this purchase that I forgot I had left over from my birthday in March. On the left is an infinity scarf, next to my new #bookish t-shirt. #bookdragon

Didn't have a lot of time for reading this month, so I just took it easy and enjoyed a slower than normal pace. Didn't have a chance to do stats till today, either. Holidays make for a busy time.

Read 2 books:
✔Dust Tracks on the Road
✔National Parks and the Woman's Voice #tbrsupplemental, #readharder #nature
Both nonfiction
#readharder2018: 23/24 - Almost there!
#MtTBRChallenge: 25/18

1. 27
2. My GR goal was 10, but I use it as a minimum, not a challenge. I met my #MtTBRChallenge goal of 18, and I'm plugging away at #readharder2018. At this point, 30 books by the end of the year seems realistic and within reach.
3. Nightwoods by Frazier, though The Nix by Nathan Hall was a close second.
4. I don't really read new releases, but there are many in my TBR that I'm looking forward to getting around to. Such as tagged.
