“I don‘t want an easy life. I want a meaningful one.”
This book started out promising and then nothing happened. It just plateaued. I have no interest in continuing the story, unfortunately.
Slower morning at work today, so I‘m getting into this one! I‘ve heard VERY mixed reviews, so we shall see…
Finished another TBR book for #teamgamesleighers and #bookspinbingo
A soft pick due to personal taste; YA never quite does it for me.
Badly pictured, #bookspin and December TBR for #wintergames #teamgamesleighers 😊🎄🛷

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the kind of revolution it featured and the fight back against cruelty. And of course the romance! Overall, a great read and I highly recommend it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We've proven we have the strength to heal. To make something new and beautiful from the sum of our broken parts.
I recall Mama's saying: Light in, darkness out.
Perhaps it works another way, too.
Fire in, fear out.
But what the Demon King and his court do not understand is that paper is flammable.
And there is a fire catching among us.
“Does darkness not follow light, and light follow darkness, neither one truly ahead of the other?”
Perhaps being a traitor can be a good thing if you are betraying those who deserve it.
“I don't want an easy life. I want a meaningful one.“
“When the world denies you choices, you make your own.“
Fantastic! Exciting, beautiful world, f/f romance, light magic.
@j9brown thank you so much! The candle smells amazing. I love Calcifer! I can‘t wait to try the tea, and I have started to read the tagged book!
@Avanders thank you for hosting this! #FFFS #FallingForFallSwap
Wow, so good! There were so many times I wanted to post a quote (and I would have if there was service in the middle of Nevada), for so many lines were empowering. Loved it! 5🌟
I'm finally starting to catch up on posting book reviews on Insyagram, which means I'll be catching up here soon too! Here's a pic for a book I already reviewed on Litsy but didn't take a nice picture for originally.
PROPHECIES.
?Carve the Mark
Fates are assigned at birth by an oracle.
?The House of Night
There are prophetesses here!
?Good Omens
The epithet of "prophecy": "the nice and accurate prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch".
?Girls of Paper and Fire
Birth Pendants are forged during the Birth Blessing and at 18 they'll reveal a word that will determine the fate of the owner.
➡️Do you like prophecies? In which books did you find them?
Lei is taken from her village and made to serve as a concubine to the king as one of his Paper Girls. Her resolve to free herself of the situation solidifies when she falls in love. I enjoyed this book. The world is vivid and reminded me of Daughter of Smoke and Bone because of the human/demon denizins of the world. There were also aspects I didn't enjoy, and the climax didn't quite feel earned. #Fantasy
Clearly I‘m behind writing about what I‘ve read, my sister reminded me by asking if I‘d read this one as she picked it up yesterday and liked the cover...did I read it 😆 yes and I loved it!

I really love this and would love to delve into more queer YA. I would LOVE some suggestions.
I love a fantasy book of any sort really. But having a wow couple really elevates the stakes and makes me more intrigued. I can‘t wait to read the next book as soon I can get my hands on it.
Ok, so this wasn‘t the best book in the world... some bits were kinda annoying, there were parts way underdeveloped (and vice versa), and a coupla scenes were pretty triggering for me. BUT the premise was fun, the narration was good, the story was easy, and ABOVE ALL, there were lgbtq themes! I‘m a sucker for a wlw novel, so I did enjoy this book!

This book was a great read. The plot was so awesome and was very well developed. Definitely would recommend!
Yes girls!
Glad I got warned about the sexual assault before I got into the book.
Bit different
The cover drew me in and it started out strong, but it definitely lost me probably around half way in. I was listening to it as an audiobook so I finished while working on home projects, cleaning, organizing...I was disappointed after it started off so strong, but it was just choppy and unbelievable. It gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️ anyway because I was totally drawn in to the start. I won‘t be reading book 2.
I didnt completely love this - some of the characters felt flat, and I have some world building questions. But it was fun and I liked the premise.
My 3rd finished book for the #27hours7days readathon! I made it to roughly 27 hours yesterday, I'm maybe around 29? @KristenDuck
My reading is still not where it usually is, and I haven't been finishing books, but I'm almost done with 3! I'm terrible at remembering to turn off the timer during readathons so here's my progress on the #27hours7days readathon
@KristenDuck
I spent a couple hours doing yardwork and listening go this while the kids napped. I'm enjoying it so far, even while doing a chore I would rather skip...
I'm at about 9 hours for the #27hours7days readathon, but I dont have a timer going
I cant seem to focus on anything these days - I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm still reading about 25 pages of Pride and Prejudice a day with some friends, but haven't finished anything else. I'm hopi g an audiobook while I keep my hands busy will do the trick. #audiocrochet
Starting this fantasy in the hope of taking my mind off potentially having Coronavirus. #waitingfortestresults
Not bad advice. I‘m actually trying it out for myself. 😊
Finished my reread of this last night and liked it just as much the second time around. ❤️
Thank you so much @tracey38
What a great! #litsylove
Force into a life of a paper girl has the king play thing Lei fights for her self and her lover Wren
Lei is a Paper Girl, which are teenage girls who are forced to join the Demon King's harem. She makes friends, falls in love, and joins a rebellion, but it doesn't stop the Demon King from raping her. The book shows the devastating affects of sexual assault and how it impacts a person's life. I love how Lei wasn't silenced by the Demon King and how she supported her fellow Paper Girls. I can't wait to read the rest of this trilogy.
This one has been on my TBR for a while- and marks the 102nd #MtTBRChallenge book of 2019 for me! Plus, this is my final book for #Booked2019 - #ParanormalMCPoC - and I am so glad to already have my hands on the sequel! I really enjoyed this engaging fantasy. The world-building fascinated me and I loved the characters, too! It might be my #FavoriteDecemberRead #HollyJollyReading #WinterGames #ReadNosedReindeer
Thank you so much @ferskner for this great Secret Santa gift! I am starting Girls of Paper and Fire right away! Merry Christmas!

#adventrecommends Day 3. I read this book last year and I fell in love with it. I love the f/f romance here and looking forward to the sequel. ❤️
I have been wanting to read this book for a while. With the sequel coming out Tuesday I thought it was time. Now all I want if for it to be Tuesday so I can find out what happens next to Lei and Wren! This book was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat. Trigger warning for violence and sexual assault.
Anyone read those one? Does it pick up? I‘m in chapter 7 but haven‘t really gotten into it yet.
