My last post for #NFN20 is a day late. This podcast discusses non-fiction books but from an interesting comic perspective. Listened to a couple of them and enjoyed the content. Link: https://www.stitcher.com/show/by-the-book

Well, I kinda stunk at #NFN2020. Only 3 nonfiction books this month. I still have about 400 pages to go in the Frank Lloyd Wright book I started so I don‘t think I‘ll finish it today. Oh well, 3 is more nonfiction than I usually read in a month. #NovemberStats #NFN20
Waco on Netflix is a limited series that shows the 51-day siege between the members of David Koresh‘s Branch Davidians and the FBI/ATF. The tagged book is one of the sources of the series. Definitely worth a look into what happened. Now, I want to see and read more about this 🤷🏻♀️ #NFN20
This book chronicles the most catastrophic library fire in the US that occurred on April 29, 1986 at the Los Angeles Public Library. The book also connects to the larger implications and effects that libraries have. So a love letter to libraries. I enjoyed this as I love the American public library system. #NFN20 #FEASTMODE
It is about plants and botany as seen through Native American traditions and Western scientific traditions. Kimmerer- is a botanist and a a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She brings these two aspects together with the main idea we can awaken to a wider ecological consciousness by acknowledging and celebrating our reciprocal relationship with the rest of the living world. #NFN20 #FEASTMODE
This was short fun book on being fearless, finding your power, and toppling the patriarchy, with a little help from spells and rituals. I liked the way these are easy to do with readily available things. The illustrations are cute and beautiful. This would be a fun book to gift but not good for a re-read. #NFN20 #Feastmode
So . Glad to have read this book. Very no-nonsense way of figuring this out. I am going to try to incorporate readings often for me to learn and try to figure it all out. In my head and all that good stuff. I think in time with practice I will get better :)

So in reading the Minors I am noticing a lot of parallels with the cards we used to play with as kids and the Tarot. My grandmother had a tarot deck she played with but it was different. I wish we can find it (she had dementia prior to her death and hid all sorts of things everywhere. When my aunt finds her things she send them my way usually). Anyway the Mexican playing cards share a lot of parallels with the tarot. ⬇
