I‘ll start by saying I wish I would have reread 1984 before starting the tagged as too many years have passed. I was all in for the first half or so and then my interest tapered off a bit. However, I think Newman did an excellent job of weaving in the confusion and turmoil of Julia trying to live her life and carve as much freedom as possible when everything goes sideways. And the last scene of the last chapter 🤯 #LitsyTOB #NoPeopleonCover

Librarybelle I‘m shocked that I‘ve yet to read the original. Maybe I should do that this year… 4mo

Hooked_on_books I‘ve never read 1984 and plan to do so before reading this one. I look forward to both! 4mo
Ruthiella I think I I‘ll try to re-read 1984 too. At least it is short! 4mo
BarbaraBB Great review. I don‘t feel like reading 1984 again but now I feel I might need to. 4mo
squirrelbrain Yes, I‘m glad I re-read 1984 first. There were a few ‘minor‘ characters who also appeared in Julia who I wouldn‘t have picked up on otherwise. Not to mention I‘d forgotten nearly all of the book anyway. @Hooked_on_books @Ruthiella 4mo
TheAromaofBooks Great progress!! 4mo
Christine I really want to read this one but was thinking I probably needed to reread 1984 first, appreciate you noting that! 4mo
