So this just showed up in my mail. I saw the note in the corner first, and I was like, “Who‘s sending me pictures of creepy notes?!” Then I saw the _Baby Teeth_ picture. I hope it didn‘t scare the mailperson. It‘s currently hanging on the fridge...my husband will probably make me take it down 😆.

mydearwatson I just realized the Pic•Collage logo is covering up the picture of the book. It‘s from a novel called _Baby Teeth_; it‘s about an evil kiddo. The pic in the corner isn‘t in the book; I guess it‘s meant to convince people to read it. 6y

Cinfhen It‘s a new type of thriller I call #NonsenseFiction because the story is sooooo outrageous and over the top that you have to suspend so much belief but it‘s being marketed as a psychological thriller, so it‘s meant to be read as believable. Does that make any sense??? 😂 I‘m curious to see how you like it! 6y

mydearwatson I had a lot of fun with it 😆! It was pretty over-the-top, I‘m with you there. I wish I could‘ve seen how Hanna got so far in this mess instead of just jumping in on the action. 6y

#GetMovin #LetsGetRidiculous Is probably my newest pet peeve...I‘m not happy with authors who come up with the wildest MOST RIDICULOUS plot devices that totally suspend all belief and then the book is called psychological thriller!!! No, it‘s #NonsenseFiction 😖This book annoyed me but it succeeded in getting people to talk about it!!!

TheLudicReader This book was awful....mostly because of that “bet you didn‘t see that coming” plot twist. Well, um, yeah, because it‘s bloody ridiculous. Grrrr. It was a page-turner until then...and then I was just annoyed. 6y

Melissa_J I liked this one, and had a bunch of my co-workers read it so we could all talk about it. It made for great discussion (we all liked it though) because nobody saw that end coming - and yes, it was totally ridiculous, but sometimes Nonsense Fiction is exactly what is needed (I love the term!) 6y

There was no way I was reviewing this with only 451 characters. I‘ll say this book is NOT “We Need To Talk About Kevin” and if that‘s all that‘s griping you, you can skip this book. If you want an odd book that offers no literary merit other than the goal to shock, go for it!!! I was not a fan.

CarolynM Well, they wanted an honest review and you certainly gave them one. Good for you! I think there are far too many novels out there that use mental health conditions as a (sometimes lazy) way of creating a character or of advancing a plot without really understanding the condition and so making a nonsense of the story as you've described. At the risk of offending people I think The Eye of the Sheep is an example, although not as extreme as this 6y

batsy Great pan. Absolutely agreed, @CarolynM . This is what bothers me about some psychological thrillers. Demeaning/sensationalised portrayals of mental illness. Plus the term "psychological" conveys realism, but instead you get fantasy antics of people behaving in unpeoplelike ways. 6y

laundry_piles @Cinfhen I'm a little more than half way through right now. There had been a scene or two that's made me pretty uncomfortable given she's a "seven year old" but I'm also a mother of a five year old so some things are 'to far' for me. 6y
