The Tea Master and the Detective | Aliette de Bodard

I pledged to read 15 books for the challenge and ended up with a list of 25, so not bad. I read a couple of novellas and some YA books, which is a bit unusual for me, and the challenge also made me read some older books from my TBR stack - mission accomplished!

Thank you @DuckOfDoom for the idea. It was my first reading challenge and I had a lot of fun!

I read a lot of series over the past year and I was trying hard to not repeat books from the same series for the prompts. That being said, I was able to read 27/50 prompts but could probably add more if I wanted to. The best part was finding some of my favorite books! Thanks to @julesG for being an amazing buddy for the challenge and reading DODO with me 😍

@DuckofDoom's Science Fiction Fantasy TBR challenge, was a lot of fun. It is so hard for me to believe I didn't finish it. I read a ton of SFF. But apparently the last year I was more into blood mysteries.

DuckOfDoom That a pretty Dune edition! Do you like Ancillary Justice so far? I did, but I heard from some others that it did not grip them as much 5y

llwheeler @DuckOfDoom I really like it so far! I could see how people who want very fast-paced, quick read type sci-fi might not like it as much. I am reading it slowly, but to me that's not a bad thing. Kind of nice to take the time to savour a book. 5y

This was a great underwater adventure. It feels much longer than it is, and I can't understand why, but even though it feels long, you want to keep going to see what happens next. My only real complaint is that I am tired of graphic novels with scantily clad women with big breasts. Not all “super” women need to look like this. DO BETTER artists.

I didn‘t do so well... only 46% completed, even after including a couple books that I‘m not sure really qualified as SFF and some books that were not strictly to-be-read but to-be-reread. DuckOfDoom I finished 49/50. Almost 😂. The second book of the Expanse series is the missing one. I really liked the first one but I never reach for the second... 5y
