She says she‘s a Romance author but if that was all there was to her storytelling I wouldn‘t be interested. Her characters are compelling and real. Their lives aren‘t perfect and they go through life-changing experiences. Recommended.

The 5th in the Kate Burkholder Series is another good murder mystery. I enjoy this series. I have missed some, so I decided to go back to the beginning and listen to them all. Kate is sent to a hit and run scene. It involves an Amish buggy and when younger Kate was friends with the wife. Soon, she realizes that this was premeditated murder.
I was a little surprised at the murderer and the hand that was in it.

#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025 I‘m way behind on reviewing books this year. Of the 41 books I‘ve completed, this is the first of the twenty reviews I want to write. The concept is fascinating, some of the characters are well developed, and the end of the book left me wanting more. Recommended.

33/100 The mystery deepens as our writer "hero" foolishly falls in love with the actress hired to replace the other actress. Plenty of secrets come out, dirty tricks, sexual assaults, perversions, scandals the studio is willing to kill to keep quiet. 32/100 A very dark and gritty story of late 1940s Hollywood. A young starlet is found dead, and the studio rushes to cover up the scandal. A screenwriter, with writer's block, becomes involved because he knows the studio's story isn't true. It's very dark, there aren't any really likeable characters, even the MMC is a coward you folds under studio pressure to keep quiet. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished today & it was a rollicking good time & maybe even more enjoyable than the first book! I love Billie, Natalie, Helen & Mary Alice & their brains, snarky wit & general badassery. Friendship & found family (be still my ❤️ Taverner & his cooking skills) make these books endearing. The mystery & thrills are fun & I loved the settings & food descriptions. I got a little worried at the ending that there would not be⬇️

This is a low pick for me. I liked the plot and the MMC. However, the FMC I didn't care for. I prefer a strong female character. 3🌟
